At 115 years old, the scoreboard is one of South Australia's most recognisable landmarks, and our team at Roof & Render SA has had the privilege of completing its latest roof replacement and restoration works.

🏠 PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: Athelstone 🛠️
We recently took on one of our most challenging jobs yet. The homeowners suspected an issue, and upon inspection, we discovered the roof truss was actually collapsing into a bedroom under the immense weight of 16 tons of old tiles!

Thankfully, they called us in time. Our expert carpenters securely propped the structure, removed the dangerous tiles, and are completely transforming it with a lightweight, secure metal roof (reducing the load to just 1.6 tons!).

🏠 Ever wondered what it looks like with your roof off?

This is the "skeleton frame" or carpentry inside your home. These webbed trusses are designed to support your roof structure from wall to wall.

However, when things go wrong, the consequences can be massive. In this home, plumbing issues caused the walls to move outward, making the trusses drop right into the bedroom below.

A traditional tile roof can hold literally 13 tons of weight over your head. To fix this and make the home safe, we are upgrading the roof to COLORBOND® steel, replacing that heavy load with just 1.6 tons of metal that is securely screwed together to stay intact.
