Hawthorndene Interior Repaint 🏡🎨

Recently completed by the South Australian Painting Services team — a complete interior repaint of this large five-bedroom Hawthorndene home.

This project required more than simply applying a fresh coat of paint, with considerable preparation undertaken throughout to ensure the new finishes were built on a sound foundation.

A notable part of the project was the rectification of a ceiling where a significant number of the existing fixings had popped. The ceiling was re-screwed, taped, flushed and prepared before repainting to achieve a clean, consistent finish.

The project included:

✅ Complete preparation and repainting of interior surfaces
✅ Rectification and flushing of the affected ceiling
✅ Dulux Silver Tea Set to the walls, creating a fresh, modern finish
✅ White finish to ceilings throughout
✅ Existing oil-based timber finishes appropriately prepared and undercoated.
✅ Doors, architraves and skirtings transitioned from traditional oil-based coatings to a hard-wearing white water-based enamel finish

The combination of Dulux Silver Tea Set walls with crisp white ceilings and timberwork works beautifully with the home’s existing features, including the tiles, while also complementing the new carpets being installed.

It’s another example of how thorough preparation, the correct coating systems and considered colour selection can completely refresh an existing home.

A Great Day Out at the Master Painters SA Golf Day ⛳️🏌️‍♂️

A great day was had by the SAPS boys down atThe Pat GCC for the annual Master Painters SA Golf Day.

While we didn’t quite make it into the placings, the boys fought gallantly and, more importantly, had a great time out on the course.

A special mention to our young apprentice Billy, who managed to show a few of the more experienced boys how it’s done, taking home the prize for Closest to the Pin! 🏆

A big thank you toMaster Painters Association SAa for organising a fantastic day and bringing everyone in the industry together.

We’ll be back to have another crack next year!

Millswood Character Home – Exterior Repaint Complete 🏡🎨

Another beautiful character home has been brought back to life by the South Australian Painting Services team.

This Millswood exterior repaint involved extensive preparation before a premium finish was applied using the Dulux AcraTex coating system.

The scope of works included:

✅ Comprehensive timber repairs
✅ Render repairs to damaged areas
✅ Re-siliconing of all control joints to ensure long-term weather protection
✅ Preparation and painting of all exterior surfaces using premium products
✅ High-gloss enamel finish applied to the feature timber entry doors
✅ Careful access and completion of works from the roof where required

As with every project we undertake, the final result is only as good as the preparation behind it. Taking the time to repair, restore and protect the existing substrates ensures a finish that not only looks exceptional but is built to last.

The transformation has given this beautiful Millswood home a fresh new lease on life while retaining all of its original character and street appeal.

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years of South Australian Painting Services 🎉

In 2016, South Australian Painting Services was officially registered. It wasn’t just the start of a business—it was the beginning of a vision to build a company known for exceptional service, quality workmanship and genuine relationships.

After completing my trade at Gilles Plains TAFE and spending years in the construction and painting industry, my journey into business ownership wasn’t a straight one. Personal growth and a change in mindset gave me the confidence to return to the trade I love and build something I could truly be proud of.

What started as a one-person operation has steadily grown into a team of around 12 dedicated people, both on the tools and behind the scenes. We’ve always believed in growing the right way—building strong relationships, investing in our people and delivering quality workmanship on every project.

Over the past 10 years, we’ve had the privilege of working with more than 200 repeat clients, many of whom have trusted us with multiple projects. That loyalty is something we never take for granted.

While our foundations were built in residential painting, we’ve naturally expanded into commercial, education, healthcare, aged care, strata and heritage restoration projects. Every project, every challenge and every relationship has helped shape the business we are today.

Although I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved professionally, my greatest achievement came 13 months ago with the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Emmy. Becoming a father hasn’t slowed me down—it has given me even greater purpose, patience and motivation to build a business that my family, our team and our clients can all be proud of.

To every client, team member (past and present), supplier, subcontractor, business partner, friend and family member—thank you. Your support has played a part in this journey, and I genuinely appreciate every opportunity you’ve given South Australian Painting Services.

Ten years has gone by quickly, but it feels like we’re only just getting started.

Welcoming the Next Generation to the SAPS Team 👏🎨

We’d like to wish the newest addition to the SAPS team, Billy, all the very best as he begins his first week of trade school next week.

Over the years, South Australian Painting Services has proudly supported several apprentices through the completion of their trade qualifications — but this one feels a little extra special.

Billy’s father, Alan, has been a valued member of the SAPS team for the past couple years, so it’s been great to already see some of that knowledge and experience being passed down on-site. There’s something rewarding about seeing the next generation entering the industry and developing their skills firsthand.

Billy is now stocked up with all the tools of the trade and ready to take the next step in his painting career. We’re looking forward to supporting him throughout his apprenticeship journey and helping him grow into a fully qualified painter and decorator.

We were recently engaged by a client at a quaint winery in Echunga, Adelaide Hills, to breathe new life into a cottage that hadn’t been touched for decades.

From the outset, the priority was clear — restore and enhance, without compromising the original character and charm of the building.
