At Tectvs, we do our best to translate the wants and needs of people into spaces and structures that benefit us all. Founded in 1989 on the shared philosophy of three partners who continue to work towards promoting quality over growth, Tectvs vouches for the humanist thinking of the Renaissance. Art, science and learning provide our society with the knowledge to inform, communicate and empower people. The Central Market Clocktower and Lift

The iconic tower at the markets Gouger Street frontage was designed by Tectvs in 1999. A simple but bold structure drew on the market environment for its design references - hardworking, dynamic and agricultural. Materials were selected for their capacity to weather and age with dignity, require minimum maintenance and be ’street-wise’ in their urban context. Steel, brick, glass and copper were carefully selected to address the character and function of the market and adjoining heritage-listed south building.

A small hilltop town in the Molise region of southern Italy presented Tectvs with the opportunity to complete a modest fit out in a three level, centuries old family home.
The existing walls and vaulted ceilings create the perfect backdrop for a kitchen, dining room and cellar.

Simplicity was key to creating a space which is both warm and elegant. Carefully placed lighting has been utilised to showcase the various natural elements of the timber and stonework throughout.

Flying eaves, roofs like the wings of a bird…

Traditionally designed to keep rainwater from the timber structure, the soaring corners add a light yet dynamic beauty to even the smaller structures.

Nearing completion, The Small Shrine echoes the architectural language of the Main Shrine, reinterpreting its distinctive forms and details on a smaller scale.

Charli Apartments

Tectvs' latest contribution to the WEST precinct has hit a major milestone with the apartments nearing completion.

A uniquely shaped site combined with the surroundings of Football Park lent itself to a design resolved through subtle curvature and angles. Horizontal planes assist the building mass to float, anchored by structural feature walls and a cylindrical lift shaft.

A nod to mid-century design sits at the heart of the interiors at our Norwood Residence.

Custom joinery was carefully integrated throughout the open-plan living spaces, creating a sense of warmth whilst maintaining a sense of grandeur throughout.

Nan Hai Pu Tup Temple, Sellicks Hill

Every now and then a Project comes along that challenges your mindset.

When that unfinished journey has already taken 10 years you appreciate the learnings of a “slow build”.
Nestled within the undulations of an expansive coastal site facing the Fleurieu, The Main Shrine, pictured, is part of a masterplan for the 137 acre retreat, which also includes accommodation, a smaller shrine and the unmistakable 18 metre tall statue of the Goddess of Mercy.
From drawing to building, there is spirituality and meaning in the evolution of each hand made detail, from singular pieces of timber that frame faith to ceremony.

At Tectvs, we believe good design should be accessible.

Mansfield Park, completed in 2024 in conjunction with Anglicare and Believe Housing Australia, provided 37 new affordable homes and 6 specialist disability homes to South Australians.

The master plan carefully balances a return to the idea of ‘The Village', utilising connective linkages, community gardens and permeability, whilst retaining tenant privacy with careful consideration to safety and diversity of tenants. The development was designed with a strong focus on community and tenant well-being, providing high quality homes to all South Australians.

We are pleased to announce that the project has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Property Council of Australia Innovation + Excellence Awards for Best Affordable Housing Development.
