Privacy without closing the outdoors in.
That was a big part of the brief for this project. Our client wanted an outdoor space that felt private and protected, while still very much feeling like she was outdoors.
We swapped the flat roof pergola for a gable roof, opening the whole area up and creating more height, light and airflow. The translucent roof panels allow plenty of natural light through, making the space feel bright and open despite the added privacy.
Underfoot, we used composite decking for a clean, low-maintenance finish, paired with Woodland Grey Colorbond screening around the perimeter. We continued the Colorbond screening around the shed, tucking it neatly out of sight so it blends naturally into the space without interfering with the overall aesthetic.
To break up the Woodland Grey and bring some warmth into the design, we added Ekodeck castellated feature screening, tying in beautifully with the tones of the decking.
The end result is exactly what we were aiming for: private without feeling enclosed, sheltered without feeling indoors, and clean and considered from every angle.
