⚡ Adelaide Showgrounds Lighting Control Upgrade ⚡

DNA Electrical Systems, in collaboration with Chris Henderson Electrical, recently completed a major lighting control system upgrade at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds Oval.

We removed the existing slow and outdated touchscreen and replaced it with a modern C-Bus automation controller, delivering faster performance, improved reliability, and a much more user-friendly experience for venue staff.

💡 The new system provides full control of the DALI lighting installation across the oval through a custom-designed iPad interface, featuring:
• Master Control Page for quick overall system management
• Individual post control for precise lighting adjustments
• Custom lighting scenes including “Circle Arena” and “Waterfall” effects with adjustable speed control

A great result for a well-known Adelaide venue, combining smarter automation with simple day-to-day operation.

🔌 Meet Ryan Perry, our 1st Year Apprentice Electrician who brings a strong eye for detail, solid problem-solving skills, and a “don’t cut corners” attitude to every job. 👷‍♂️⚡

Ryan enjoys sports, cars, computers, and seeing a finished project come together — especially when it involves cool lighting. 💡🚗 His first major project gave him great experience in running cables, reading plans, and working on larger sites.

He already holds White Card, First Aid, Rescue LV, and Working at Heights. His motto is: “Always put 100% into your work, it’s a reflection of who you are.” 🏆

Ryan values the laughs, banter, support, and strong workmanship within the DNA Electrical Systems team. 🙌

We kicked the day off skydiving over the Langhorn Creek (yes… actually jumping out of a plane 😅), followed by a well-earned lunch and drinks.
