Safely managing major site decommissioning projects.

Our crews recently supported a critical decommissioning phase, to execute the controlled removal of a couple of heavy gantry systems and associated equipment.

Using multiple high-capacity cranes, the team lifted, cleared, and re-positioned substantial site infrastructure, including large power generators, containerised units, and the decommissioned gantry cranes.

Operations of this scale on key infrastructure sites require rigorous lift engineering, precise site coordination, and un-compromised safety standards from start to finish.

A strong effort by our operators, riggers, and lift supervisors for delivering another complex job smoothly and safely.

Installation and construction of gantry cranes for the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project

A great effort from the team to bring the gantry crane together safely and efficiently on site.

The T2D Project is South Australia's largest infrastructure project and will create a non-stop South Road between Gawler and Old Noarlunga. Drivers will bypass 21 sets of traffic lights between the River Torrens and Darlington as they travel through two separate tunnels, connected by an open motorway.

We’re proud to be part of a project of this scale.

High-voltage power reactors are not the kind of infrastructure you get a second chance with, so a lift like this requires a comprehensive level of planning and precise ex*****on.

Following an in depth consultation with project stakeholders, significant engineering and approvals, we deployed the 700-tonne Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 to complete the lifting and precision placement of two units on site for our client.

On a job like this, ground behaviour under load is a key variable, and our crane performed with minimal movement from the outrigger pads, which is notable given the load.

If you have a high-stakes lift in the planning stages, reach out to the Fleurieu Cranes team today.

This month, we’re putting the spotlight on our Engineering Department
Engineering on a crane hire job sits at the centre of every lift, from the initial enquiry through to the load being set down.

Using various softwares, and available tools, the engineers work through the geometry of every lift, boom angle, load path and ground bearing pressure against the rated capacity of the selected crane.

The lift plan, lift study and rigging diagrams that follow, then become the governing document for everyone on site.

If you have a job in the planning stages and want an engineering eye across it early, reach out to the Fleurieu Cranes team today.

Thanks to our incredible team of engineers making these projects a reality

Tradies National Health Month is an important reminder that looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health.

The construction industry continues to face one of the highest su***de rates of any sector in Australia, which is why we're proud to be a MATES Accredited Business and committed to creating a workplace where our people feel supported.

A minimum of 80% of our team have completed General Awareness Training through the MATES in Construction program, 5% are trained Connectors, equipped to recognise when someone may be struggling, and we maintain site access to a volunteer trained in ASIST.

The wellbeing of our people is our highest priority, and we're committed to fostering a culture where conversations about mental health are encouraged and support is always available.

This Tradies National Health Month, let's continue to look out for one another. If you'd like to learn more about the important work MATES in Construction is doing, visit: construction.mates.org.au/support-your-mates

Fleurieu Cranes is proud to be supporting South Australian track cyclist, Mitchell Stephens!

Mitchell is preparing to represent Australia at the 2026 UCI Junior Track World Championships in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium from 19 to 23 August.

Racing out of Norwood Cycling Club, Mitchell has earned a selection in the sprint men's squad as one of two first-year under-19 athletes in the 14-strong ARA Australian Cycling Team.

This is a massive achievement and we’re proud to play a small part in Mitch’s journey.

If you would like to support his campaign, contributions can be made via the link below: asf.org.au/campaigns/mitchell-stephens

The “smoko” check-in is more than a coffee break, it’s a structured moment built into our day to pause, reconnect with the team and ensure everyone is fully across the work front requirements.

Our sites are dynamic environments where conditions, tasks and personnel can shift throughout the course of a day. That’s why these regular check-ins play an important role in keeping our people informed, aligned and safe.
