There aren’t many residential builds in Adelaide that look quite like this from above.

Our Beaumont project is one of those builds where the architectural ambition shapes every element of the construction. The curved form has required careful consideration across the steelwork, retaining and pool design, with every detail working together to bring the vision to life.

It’s still early days, but seeing the shape of this home emerge from above gives a real sense of what’s to come.

Last Friday, we fired up the BBQ at the Claridge office and invited the team to drop in for lunch, take a brief break from the day and catch up with colleagues.

With busy schedules across the office and our sites, we value the opportunities to spend a little time together when we can. Making space to connect, check in and enjoy each other’s company is an important part of the culture we continue to build at Claridge.

For some, this might look like just a slab pour. But for our clients and us, it represents a significant milestone in the building journey.

An enormous amount of planning, preparation and hard work goes into reaching this stage. And for our clients, it’s often the first real visual representation of their plans, ideas and dreams beginning to take shape.

It’s more than concrete. It’s the foundation of what’s to come.

A slab pour is always an exciting milestone, but this one came with a few extra special touches.

This is a lovely example of what our Buildertrend updates can look like. A quick chat from Reuben on site, sharing what’s happening, what’s coming next and a few of the moments our clients might otherwise miss along the way.

For this family, slab stage also meant leaving their mark on their new home, with handprints from everyone, including the dogs.

And in a very fitting addition to the site update, a mother duck and her ducklings stopped by to inspect the progress too.

A little glimpse at the moments that happen along the way and make each build that much more special.

Six months of preparation, multiple concrete pours and plenty of persistence have led to this moment: the slab is officially down.

For Site Manager Ian, it marks the completion of one of the most demanding stages of the build. After weeks of rain and ongoing delays, it took 19 people across six trades working together on site to ensure the pour could go ahead as planned.

In Ian’s words, it was “organised chaos” and an incredibly satisfying result.

Milestones like this are a reminder that construction is always a team effort. We’re grateful for the commitment of our trades, suppliers and Claridge team, who continue to support one another, solve challenges and keep each project moving forward.

The slab has now been measured, the structural steel is heading into fabrication and the next stage of the build will soon begin. But first, a well-earned chocolate slice to celebrate.

Early progress at our Fulham project, where a family’s next chapter is starting to take shape.

After saying goodbye to their existing 1960s home, our clients are creating a considered new home designed around the way they live today, with generous spaces for family life and plenty of thoughtful details to be brought to life as the build progresses.

The foundation pour at our Beaumont project marks the completion of one of the most detailed and technically critical stages of the build.

For Holly Spurr, our Pre-Construction Manager, reaching this milestone reflects months of collaboration between our engineers, consultants, designers and project team to carefully resolve every element of this unique design.

With curved architectural forms, complex structural steel, a lift shaft, integrated staircase and multiple level changes, every detail has needed to be checked and cross-checked to ensure the structure above aligns exactly as intended.

Much of this precision will eventually be hidden, but it's the work completed at this stage that creates the foundation for everything that follows. Now, with the groundwork in place, the team can begin to watch this elevated custom home grow from the landscape and take shape.
