Maton 1955 HG100 Jumbo Acoustic top restoration and refinish. Here’s another beautiful old vintage Maton Acoustic that has been restored and made playable again. At some point in its life, the top was stripped and repainted with a brush, our good friend Danny Hooper stripped it off and repaired the cracks and the split..then sent it into us here at Fretco so we could refinish the top in Sunburst. Very nice Danny, thanks for trusting us to do the job👍

Gibson Hummingbird Pickguard repair
These Hummingbird pickguards are prone to warping and lifting, please don’t try and glue these down, once these pickguards start warping they need to be removed and replaced with a new guard.
Unfortunately someone tried using Superglue on this one, and spilled glue all over the nitro finish. You cant use Acetone to remove the glue or you will melt the Nitro and ruin the finish, which is a full strip and refinish if you want it to look right.
Had to carefully scrape the super glue off and spray fresh blend coat of Nitro over the damaged area.
Total cost $400 + $100 for the new pickguard,
or $200 if you have the guard removed, remove the old glue and fit new guard.
Dont use Super Glue on Nitro!!
