At TA Electrical, investing in the next generation isn't about filling positions. It's about building the future of our industry. That's something we've believed in since day one.

Meet Alan and Matt.

Alan joined TA two years ago and is looking to focus on building his PLC programming skills while continuing to grow his knowledge in industrial automation.

Matt is at the beginning of his journey, but in just four months he's already impressed the team with his capability, technical understanding and willingness to learn. (With an ATAR over 80, we're pretty sure he's keeping everyone on their toes!)

The two work together regularly, with Alan helping mentor Matt on site. Apparently the mentoring doesn't stop when they knock off either, as they've started gaming together on weekends.

One of the things we're most proud of is seeing people grow.

Watching Alan's journey over the past two years and seeing the confidence and capability he's built is exactly why we continue to invest in developing our people.

It all comes down to giving people real opportunities, real responsibility and the support they need to keep growing.

We're not just building electrical systems.

We're helping build the future of our industry.

What started as an inspection quickly uncovered a control panel that had seen better days.

Years of corrosion had left the enclosure unsafe for the environment it was operating in, so rather than patching it up, we replaced the enclosure, transferred everything across, updated the documentation and got the system back up and running.

It's not always about fixing what's broken. Sometimes it's about preventing the next breakdown before it happens.

If you've got ageing electrical equipment that hasn't been inspected in a while, let's have a look before it becomes an unexpected shutdown.

Meet Ryan, our Estimator, who's been part of the TA Electrical team for 13 years.

If you've ever wondered what an estimator does all day... imagine someone running around like a headless chook, juggling quotes, ordering materials, helping the team and somehow still finding time to eavesdrop on every conversation in the office.

Ryan's personality colour is Red (thanks to Surrounded by Idiots), which probably explains why he loves being right almost as much as he loves golf... and a bit of office gossip.

What makes Ryan such a valuable part of TA is that there's no such thing as a copy-and-paste quote. Every proposal is tailored to the client's site, operations and requirements. He might spend 20 minutes debating the simplest problem, but throw him a complex industrial challenge and he'll usually have a solution in seconds.

(He also firmly believes he'd be a professional athlete if he wasn't an electrician... we'll let you be the judge of that.)

Your breaker keeps tripping for a reason.

It might seem like a nuisance, but it's actually doing exactly what it's designed to do.

A breaker trips to protect your electrical system when something isn't right.

If it keeps happening, there's usually an underlying issue that needs attention, not just another reset.

The most common causes are:
A short circuit.
An overloaded circuit.
A motor that's drawing more current than it should.

The sooner the cause is identified, the less chance there is of it turning into an unexpected breakdown.

What’s TA Electrical doing at a mushroom growing facility?

More than you might think.

Our team recently completed a comprehensive site-wide lighting compliance audit, assessing over 4,600 light fittings, emergency lights and exit signs across the facility. From the grow rooms and packing lines to cold storage, plant rooms, amenities and external access roads, every area was inspected to ensure safe, compliant, and effective lighting.

Lighting isn't just about being able to see. It's about keeping people safe, maintaining productivity, and ensuring sites meet Australian Standards.

Whether it's a manufacturing plant, warehouse, recycling facility, food processing site or, in this case, a mushroom growing facility... if it needs electrical expertise, we've got it covered.
