📣NEWS!📣 SA screenwriter and director Scarlett Scherer has been selected as one of eight finalists nationally for Netflix’s The Next Brilliant Career initiative! Scarlett travelled to Netflix HQ in Sydney this week to pitch her original scripted concept, following her recent work as Director’s Assistant on Netflix’s SA made and SAFC supported series My Brilliant Career. Created by Netflix in partnership with the Australian Writers' Guild, the SAFC, and screen agencies across the country, the initiative was designed to support the next generation of women and non-binary Australian screen storytellers. 🕹 NEWS! 🎮 The SAFC's Digital Games Fund (DGF) is back, delivering a $1 million boost for local developers – the biggest pool of game development funding in South Australia’s history!

Building on the success of the inaugural round of the DGF, the second round has doubled the amount of funding available across three streams, offering up to $30,000 for pre-production, $150,000 for production and $50,000 for post-release. Applications open Wednesday 21 October.

The SAFC has also announced the new Games Studio Placement Program, supporting paid employment opportunities for emerging and mid-career developers within local game development studios. Eligible SA studios will be able to apply for subsidised salary and superannuation support for a six or 12 month full-time staff placement.
