🔬 Architecture shaping the future of research at Campus Grand Parc, Villejuif!

Together with Studio SAME architectes, we have designed a new life sciences incubator dedicated to oncology research at Campus Grand Parc in Villejuif.

Located next to the Institut Gustave Roussy, Europe’s leading cancer research centre, the approximately 25,000 m² of gross floor area development provides flexible office and laboratory spaces for startups and established biotechnology companies alike.

Three buildings are arranged around a landscaped courtyard, with adaptability at the heart of the design. Brick façades, generous terraces and green outdoor spaces create a distinctive identity while encouraging interaction and well-being.

Connecting the three buildings and the Innovation Center, the central atrium forms the vibrant heart of the ensemble – a welcoming place for researchers, scientists and innovators to meet, exchange ideas and collaborate.

How can architecture create a place where research, innovation and collaboration come together?

IXCAMPUS is an innovation campus that brings together academia, industry and entrepreneurship in one location. Three new buildings and the extension of an existing one are woven together through a network of shared outdoor spaces. Carefully integrated into the historic park, they form a harmonious ensemble through their materiality and their close relationship with the surrounding landscape.

A defining feature is the incubator's woven Douglas fir façade, which filters daylight, provides shade and creates a seamless connection between the architecture and nature. Together with the Grande Orangerie, it reflects an architectural approach that works with its surroundings rather than against them.

A new cultural destination within Berlin's historic centre!
Our proposal for Plot 4 at "Am Molkenmarkt" explores how contemporary architecture can become a natural part of Berlin's historic urban fabric. Three interconnected townhouses bring together theatres, exhibition spaces, artists' studios and publicly accessible archaeological remains, creating a vibrant new cultural destination.

The project is guided by the principles of simple, robust and long-lasting architecture. A hybrid timber-concrete structure, mineral materials, reduced building services and passive environmental strategies create a building designed for durability, flexibility and resource efficiency.

We are proud that our design has been recognised in the "Am Molkenmarkt" competition and to contribute to one of Berlin's most significant urban regeneration projects.

Our thanks go to Senatsverwaltung Stadtentwicklung, Bauen & Wohnen Berlin for their trust, to our partners Lederer Ragnarsdóttir Architekten for the inspiring collaboration, and to our dedicated team in Berlin.

22·26 Hybrid Refurbishment at Universitätstrasse, Zurich ♻️

Transforming existing buildings is key to a more sustainable future. Our refurbishment of a 1970s office building brings this vision to life, combining high comfort with minimal reliance on conventional building services, following the method 22·26.

By revealing the original ceiling heights and activating the building’s thermal mass, we’ve created a naturally balanced indoor climate between 22 and 26°C supported by an optimised façade, reduced glazing, and smart control systems.

Powered by a photovoltaic façade, heat pump, and complemented by a green roof 🌿, the building now offers 1,418 m² of flexible workspace and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views over Zurich and Lake Zurich.

Awarded BREEAM Refurbishment Outstanding, the project sets a strong example for sustainable transformation in Switzerland.

Now home to Jung von Matt Switzerland, it stands as a vibrant, contemporary workplace.

Thank you to all project partners for the great collaboration!
