As summer vacation is in full swing, highways are experiencing some of the highest traffic volumes of the year. And with more traffic comes more noise. Protecting all people at highway service areas, rest stations, gas stations and similar roadside facilities is therefore more important than ever.

Our Integrated Noise Barrier system combines two essential functions in one tested solution: vehicle restraint system and noise barrier. By combining the safety barrier with the noise barrier, the system moves closer to the noise source, providing effective noise protection while saving valuable space.

What happens when a Tesla Model 3 hits a concrete barrier at 110 km/h? We put it to the test.

In a full-scale EV crash test involving a 1,900 kg Tesla Model 3 and a 20-degree impact angle, the impact energy was 28% higher than in the EN 1317-2 TB32 test (which uses a 1,500 kg vehicle mass).

The results?
✔ Barrier performed as intended
✔ No damage to the barrier
✔ Excellent vehicle behaviour
✔ Battery remained visually intact
✔ Even Tesla’s emergency call system remained active – and unexpectedly brought the police to the test site 😉

As the number of EVs on our roads continues to grow, road safety infrastructure must keep pace. As vehicles evolve, road safety infrastructure must evolve too.
