🌿 Confiança University Residence in Braga: transforming a historic factory into 18,187 m² of future-ready student housing

Founded in 1894, the former Fábrica Confiança was once part of Braga’s productive, social and architectural identity, linked for decades to the production of soaps, perfumes and cosmetics.

Today, its transformation combines the rehabilitation of this historic landmark with a new student residence, built by our esteemed partner Grupo Casais using the CREE timber-hybrid system.

180 CREE slab elements are taking shape for Nova Kunraticka and that’s only one part of the production story behind the first CREE building in the Czech Republic. 🏗️

Last month, CREE shared how SYNER is bringing the CREE System to the Czech Republic. This week, the focus shifts behind the scenes: to where most of the prefabricated elements for Nova Kunraticka have already been produced.

At KS Prefa, north of Prague, the first of around 180 CREE slab elements is already being manufactured.

From there, the journey continued another 150 km south-east of Prague to Taros Nova, where the first wall elements are taking shape.

Once production is fully running, four wall panels per day will be produced - complete with windows, blinds and the external brick-effect façade, ready for assembly on site.
Meanwhile, in Liberec, foundations and the underground parking are being completed.

This summer, our partner SYNER begins construction of its first 8,060 m² timber-hybrid residential project in the Czech Republic. 🚀

A major milestone for our partner SYNER: construction of Nová Kunratická in Liberec, Czech Republic is set to begin this summer.

The residential development will become SYNER's first project built with the CREE System, bringing industrialized timber-hybrid construction to another market and expanding our growing international network.
