As part of Tirana Architecture Week 2026, we are pleased to present the Knowledge Workshop on Advanced Applications of MIDAS Civil and MIDAS Gen, led by Yeop Jin from MIDAS IT Co., Ltd.

The workshop explores advanced applications of structural analysis and design software, offering participants an opportunity to deepen their technical knowledge and discover innovative approaches to contemporary engineering challenges.

A meeting point between technology, knowledge, and design, contributing to the interdisciplinary spirit of TAW 2026.

TAW 2026 — WELL GROUNDED

A powerful lineup of voices shaping contemporary discourse in architecture, design, and culture.

This edition welcomes keynote speakers Aleks Shtjefni, Polyxeni Mantzou, Ledian Bregasi, and Iris Canaj — three distinct perspectives brought together to explore grounded thinking, critical practice, and creative production within today’s shifting realities.

From research-driven approaches to applied design and cultural narratives, their contributions open space for dialogue between disciplines, contexts, and generations.

TAW 2026 continues to position Tirana as a meeting point for ideas that challenge, connect, and redefine the built environment.

Join us on Monday with our next keynote speaker, Iris Canaj, theatre director, cultural producer, and researcher shaping the intersection of art, public space, and society.

After completing her studies in Theatre and Show Direction, she is now pursuing a PhD focused on cultural and creative productions and their impact on tourism and the economy.

As co-founder and Executive Director of DoART, she works across disciplines to bring art closer to everyday life—believing in its power to inspire change, awareness, and connection.

With over 8 years of experience in the public sector, she has contributed to key cultural initiatives in Tirana, including Reja – The Cloud and the Creative Industries Agency, which she now leads.

From directing theatre, audio dramas, and documentaries to producing large-scale festivals like the Festival of Street Performers and “Ah Theth”, her work carries a strong social voice—advocating for inclusiveness, environmental awareness, and equality.

A true artivist, Iris uses creativity as a tool for impact, education, and transformation.

Our next Keynote Speaker @ TAW 2026, Ledian Bregasi Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at POLIS University where he teaches advanced architectural design since 2010. Ledian Bregasi was granted the Ph.D. title in Architecture, Theory and Design for his thesis focusing on the emergent properties of complex systems and their possible applications in architectural and urban design from “Sapienza” University of Rome from where he had previously graduated in the Architecture UE integrated master program. The work of his Mater Thesis is published in a special issue of the “L’Arca” magazine.
Since 2012 he is director of The Albanian Union of Architects and Urban Planners, an association of professionals that has among its objectives the advancement of the architectural debate and the promotion of professional excellence.

Introducing our next Keynote Speaker of TAW 2026, Aleks Shtjefni Albanian architect, engineer and educator based in Tirana. He holds a Master of Science in Architecture and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering. His practice spans architecture, urban design, interiors, and public space, with several awards in international competitions and projects. Since 2017, he has led projects through Tharm Architects while teaching architectural design at Epoka University and the Polytechnic University of Tirana. His work has received recognition from the Balkan Architectural Biennale, BIG SEE Awards, ICONIC AWARDS, and has been featured in international architectural publications and catalogues.

Introducing our Keynote Speaker of TAW 2026, Polyxeni Mantzou, Professor at the Department of Architecture, University of Ioannina. She studied architecture at NTUA and completed postgraduate and doctoral studies at ETSAM-UPM, and postdoctoral research at NTUA with scholarships. She has taught in Greece and abroad at undergraduate and postgraduate level and has supervised PhDs. She participates in and coordinates European research projects. Her architectural work has been awarded and exhibited. She publishes articles and books. Her interests include digital media, urban design, and cultural heritage.

Modular & Inclusive Design Interventions workshop.
DAY 1: Students explored Human-Centered Design principles to identify real needs and use them as the starting point for design solutions.
DAY 2: The projects focused on defining function and creating modular combinations based on ergonomic studies.

Part of TAW 2026 at Polis University, this workshop explores the fluid relationship between product and identity through the lens of liquid and label design.

“Liquid & Label: Design Identity” invites participants to experiment with color, material, and visual systems—rethinking how packaging communicates beyond function. From concept to ex*****on, the focus is on creating expressive identities that move, blend, and adapt, much like the liquids they contain.

Led by Xhorxho Kita, the workshop encourages a hands-on, exploratory approach where graphic design meets sensory experience.

Join us for a Knowledge Exchange Workshop on Advanced Applications of MIDAS Civil and MIDAS Gen, taking place from October 5–9 at POLIS University. This workshop brings together students and professionals to explore innovative structural analysis techniques, share insights, and develop practical skills through hands-on learning.

Led by Flogerta Krosi, Alma Gjonaj, Endri Duro, and Ornela Sen, the sessions will focus on real-world applications, collaboration, and pushing the boundaries of engineering design.
