The MLS Butchery, a contemporary meat store situated within the bustling Souq Madina in Muscat. The design concept pivots on the modernization of the conventional butchery, morphing it into a retail-centric establishment with a pronounced design focus. Covering an area of 77 square meters, this space is a testament to meticulous design that marries functionality with an avant-garde aesthetic.

In the interior, a minimalist approach is paramount, with sharp, angular walls serving both as display areas and visual dividers, drawing the attention of patrons from adjacent corridors. The color palette is a bold juxtaposition of the warmth of wood and the vivacity of red, with the former used in the signage bulkhead, a pre-existing mall installation that has been seamlessly integrated into the design. This wooden feature not only harmonizes with the interior but also serves as an anchor point for the store's branding.

The red-hued backlit signage stands out as a beacon, inviting and guiding customers into the space. The rich, deep tones of red are carried throughout the walls and transparent panels, imbuing the space with a dynamic energy that alludes to the freshness and vitality of the produce on offer. These walls are punctured with a pattern of holes, subtly nodding to the theme of craft and precision—a hallmark of fine butchery.

The Arcadian Steakhouse, nestled in Souq Madina, Muscat, spans an intimate 120 square meters and exudes a rustic yet modern charm. Its design philosophy hinges on creating a sensorial narrative that complements the savoring of fine steaks, embracing both visual and tactile experiences.

The interior is a tapestry of rich wooden textures set against geometric patterns, with an earthy palette that echoes the organic essence of steakhouse tradition. The ceiling is a deep, wood-grained canvas that warmly absorbs the space’s ambient light, contrasting with the delicate, cloud-like pendant lights that evoke a natural, soft diffusion. This juxtaposition of textures and elements is a subtle nod to the balance between refinement and the elemental nature of steakhouse cuisine.

At eye level, the walls are adorned with vibrant, avian-themed artworks, set within rough-hewn textures that provide a backdrop reminiscent of a luxe safari lodge. This project is a testament to the power of interior design in shaping experiences, where every element is an integral part of the cohesive whole. "Filli Chicago" invites patrons to linger over their tea, enveloped in an ambiance that balances modern elegance with the comforting embrace of nature-inspired elements.

The material palette is deliberately restrained, featuring a mix of polished concrete floors, textured wall finishes, and wood accents that evoke a sense of warmth and simplicity. Furniture selections are a nod to mid-century modern design, with chairs and tables that combine functionality with a timeless aesthetic, their wooden bases and muted upholstery complementing the organic sensibilities of the space.

In crafting this space, attention has been paid to every detail, from the strategic placement of planters with pampas grass that soften the boundaries between seating areas to the custom light fixtures that mimic the organic forms found throughout the space. The design seeks not only to create a visual impact but also to enhance the user experience through a thoughtful arrangement of space and materials that evoke a sense of calm and belonging.

Inside, the space unfolds with an open-plan dining area that encourages social interaction while also allowing for personal space. The material palette consists of rich, dark wood for the tables, which provides a warm contrast to the cool grey tones of the tile flooring. The tables are well-spaced, ensuring comfort and a sense of exclusivity. Chairs in shades of chocolate and cream add a subtle variety and complement the wooden tabletops. Above, spherical pendant lights descend from the exposed ceiling, their white globes offering a diffuse glow that enhances the ambiance.

The black metal partitions are a striking feature, juxtaposing against the restaurant's lighter hues and warm wood finishes. The walls, a canvas of pristine white, are punctuated by thoughtful typography that speaks to the café's ethos—“Uniting cultures one cup at a time.” These words resonate within the space, becoming a part of the café's identity.
