At this Dubai villa, our refurbishment builds on an existing landscape, retaining key elements while introducing a distinctive new planting language.

Formal topiaries shape the front garden, softened by groundcovers and complemented by existing palms and olive trees. A specimen Ceiba speciosa anchors the driveway, while tropical planting is concentrated in shaded areas.

The Tilal Al Ghaf Bridge takes the cover of Landscape Middle East.

From its earliest sketches to its completion, the bridge has evolved into a defining gateway for the Tilal Al Ghaf community. Inspired by the Ghaf tree, the design brings together pedestrian movement, landscape and sculptural form to create a landmark that connects people and place.

From a plan on paper to a place that brings people together.​

Designed by desert INK in collaboration with Velosolutions, the Masdar Pump Track was created to be more than just a track. It’s a park stuffed with native planting, shaded spaces and places for riders and spectators to connect.​

Today, it’s the largest pump track in the MENA region, and in 2025 it hosted the UAE Qualifier for the UCI Pump Track World Championships.

It’s always rewarding to see a landscape evolve over time. At Mövenpick Resort in Ras Al Khaimah, gardens, beaches, swimming pools, terraces and planted spaces were carefully woven together to create a relaxed setting with a variety of experiences and moments of retreat.

Today, seeing the landscape in full bloom brings that vision to life, with mature planting adding depth, colour and character to the resort.

Sometimes, the most sustainable landscapes start with what’s already around us.

At Al Faya Lodge and Terra, The Sustainability Pavilion, locally sourced stone was used in gabion walls to create retaining walls, platforms and seating, reducing reliance on imported materials and carbon-heavy concrete solutions.

Simple, adaptable, durable and rooted in their setting, gabions are one of our favourite materials for very good reason.

On site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, local stone is beginning to define our response to this public realm landscape.

Drawing from the warm tones, textures and materiality of the surrounding valley, we employed local stone in multiple formats. From gabion basket-lined drainage channels, to freestanding stone walls and crushed gravel plazas; using local materials not only looks appropriate but also saves cost and carbon.

A recent visit to Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, offered a closer look at the landscape and public realm of Bujairi Terrace, overlooking At-Turaif, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

From considered level changes and framed views to shaded F&B spillovers and contemporary interpretations of traditional Najdi patterns, the visit offered plenty of insight into how landscape, heritage and contemporary use come together.
