On 4 September 2026, the XUP Rope Access team continued silicone inspection and installation works across multiple elevations:

• Elevation C — Silicone application in areas inspected and approved during the previous shift

PRECISION IN EVERY LIFT

Handling large glass panels requires more than lifting capacity—it demands secure gripping, controlled movement and precise positioning.

The XPLATFORM Glass Vacuum Lifter is engineered to support professional glass handling during façade installation, glazing and construction works.

KEY PERFORMANCE FEATURES

• Lifting capacity from 350 to 650 kg, depending on the approved configuration
• Available with 4, 6 or 8 suction pads
• Tilting movement from 0° to 90°
• Full rotation from 0° to 360°
• Controlled positioning for installation accuracy
• Reduced manual handling of heavy glass panels

BEFORE EVERY LIFT

• Confirm the glass weight, dimensions and centre of gravity
• Select the correct lifting capacity and pad configuration
• Ensure the glass surface is clean, dry and pad-compatible
• Inspect suction pads, seals, hoses, valves and vacuum indicators
• Confirm a stable vacuum before raising the glass
• Perform a controlled test lift at minimal height
• Keep personnel clear of the suspended load
• Follow the equipment instructions and approved operating limits

Safety principles for vacuum lifting attachments are addressed by BS EN 13155:2020+A1:2025. Equipment selection must also consider the actual application, lifting orientation, glass condition and site environment.

SUSPENDED WORKING PLATFORMS
SAFE AND CONTROLLED FAÇADE ACCESS

Working at height requires more than reaching the required elevation—it demands a properly selected, installed and controlled access system.

A Suspended Working Platform, also known as a construction cradle or rope suspended platform, provides practical vertical access for:

• Façade installation and maintenance
• Glass, aluminium and cladding works
• Painting, cleaning and inspection
• Repair and refurbishment projects

Safe operation depends on the complete system—not simply the platform’s rated capacity. The platform structure, traction hoists, secondary safety devices, steel wire ropes, electrical controls, suspension arrangement and personal fall-protection equipment must be compatible and suitable for the actual project conditions.

Before every shift, competent personnel should inspect:

• Platform sections, guardrails and connections
• Hoists, brakes and emergency controls
