A client recently contacted us because their gate motor appeared to be giving problems. After checking the system, we found that the motor wasn’t the issue at all. The problem was the gate safety beams.
The batteries in the safety beams were flat, causing them to beep and preventing the gate automation from operating as expected.
Safety beams are an important part of your gate automation system. They help detect obstructions in the gate’s path and can prevent the gate from closing when something is in the way.
If your gate suddenly stops working properly, keeps opening, won’t close or your safety beams start beeping, don’t automatically assume the motor is faulty.
A simple check of your safety beams and their batteries could be all that’s needed.
Regular gate maintenance helps us check the entire automation system, not just the motor.
