DON'T LET A "QUICK FIX" BECOME A DANGEROUS FIX

Can you use an orange LPG hose directly to your gas geyser?

NO.

Gas geyser installations require the correct gas piping, fittings, appliance connection and installation method.

An incorrect or makeshift connection can create:

•Gas leaks
•Damage from weather and UV exposure
•Incorrect appliance operation
•Safety and compliance problems

GAS CAGE

A gas cage is a secure, ventilated enclosure designed for the safe storage of gas cylinders to prevent theft, tampering, and accidental damage, while also ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Features and Requirements

•Security:
Gas cages feature strong, lockable doors to prevent unauthorized access.

•Ventilation:
Proper airflow is critical to disperse any potential gas build-up and reduce explosion risks. South African regulations require at least 10% open area on the top sides and 60 cm² ventilation openings per side near the bottom.

•Durability and Material:
Cages are typically constructed from robust, non-combustible materials like steel or aluminium to withstand weather conditions and tampering.

•Compliance:
Cages are designed to meet safety standards like SANS 10087-1, which is crucial for safety, insurance purposes, and legal compliance.

•Installation:
Gas cages must be fixed to a solid, level floor and positioned correctly with required safety distances from doors, windows, drains, and electrical points. Professional installation is recommended to ensure compliance.

Gas cages are available in various sizes to accommodate different cylinder capacities, from 9kg to 48kg and even larger industrial sizes. They come in single, double, or quad configurations.
