With hearts full of gratitude and complete humility, we are incredibly honoured to announce that Green Block Architects has been awarded Winner – Category 7: Residential Work at the Pretoria Institute for Architecture Voices Awards 2026 for our project Rooms with a View – 246 The Islands Estate.
First and foremost, we give all glory and thanks to God. Every opportunity, every challenge overcome and every blessing along this journey has been through His grace. We are truly grateful for the gifts He has entrusted to us and for allowing us to use them to create spaces that positively impact people’s lives.
This award means so much more than winning a category.
It is a celebration of trust.
What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that our project was nominated by our clients and supported by so many incredible people through the public vote. To everyone who voted, shared our posts, encouraged us and stood behind Green Block Architects, thank you. Every single vote mattered, and every message of support reminded us how fortunate we are to be surrounded by such an amazing community.
As a small architectural practice, standing alongside some of Pretoria’s largest and most respected firms was already an incredible honour. To be recognised as the winner is both humbling and deeply inspiring.
This achievement belongs to every client who has trusted us with their vision, every member of our hardworking team who pours their heart into every project, and every friend, family member and colleague who believed in us long before this award.
At Green Block Architects, we have always believed that architecture is about far more than designing beautiful buildings. It is about creating spaces where families grow, businesses flourish and lifelong memories are made. Our greatest reward has always been seeing our clients’ dreams become reality.
Receiving this award, together with being recognised as Best of Pretoria 2025 – Readers’ Choice Best Architect, encourages us to continue raising the standard in everything we do. It strengthens our commitment to innovative, sustainable and biophilic architecture, while never losing sight of what matters most: our clients.
