🌳🇿🇦 A Day of Heritage, Honour and Legacy 🇿🇦🌳

What a privilege to be part of this meaningful tree-planting ceremony in White River alongside community leaders and representatives of the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (MOTH), our Angola War veterans’ association of South Africa.

It was special to work alongside Quintin Coetzee, well known from 50/50>, as we finished preparing the planting hole before we handed the Wild Mango tree to Leon Robertson, Chairman of the MOTH Order, for the official planting ceremony.

This Wild Mango tree carries a remarkable story — it was grown from seed taken from one of the very first Wild Mango trees planted 40 years ago in front of the Wimpy in White River. 🌱

Last year, we also planted a Baobab tree in White River and another in Barberton on behalf of the Order. These baobab saplings originate from the original baobab tree we planted 40 years ago at the MOTH Hall in Barberton.

The group photo includes representatives from the various MOTH units across the Lowveld — standing together in remembrance, unity and respect.

Trees planted in honour of the past, growing strong for the future. 🌳

This weekend's project: Wesvaal Delta Witrevier is the primary sponsor of Tree Plant Day. Skukuza nursery sponsored 28 trees to be planted and Earth2Earth sponsored the compost to facilitate optimal growth. The trees were planted by the Lowveld Junior Honorary Rangers at four Matsulu Primary Schools. We look forward to seeing these trees again in a few years 🤩

This past week we initiated a new project. We planted lettuce seeds in our potting medium to give to bypassing drivers at one of Nelspruit’s traffic light stops. The growth on these plants you see on the last picture was after only three days. 🤩

For three decades, the Skakuza Marathon has been an outstanding example of community spirit, and we're proud to have been a part of it for the past three years. Special thanks to Karel De Beer, our sales representative, for expertly coordinating water point number three. 💪🏼

This year's event saw an impressive 2000 entries, with 1600-1700 participants.
