Today, we'll be talking about BLOCKING.
π¨ Proper Surface Preparation:
Thoroughly clean, scrape, and sand the surface before painting. Make sure the surface is dry, clean and free from contamination, oils, rust and dirt.
π§ Address Moisture Issues: Find and fix any sources of moisture before painting. Moisture in the wall must be 10 - 15% or less (always refer to the manufacturer's product data sheet).
π¬ Address Imperfections: Fill any holes or cracks to create a smooth surface for the paint. Skimming may be recommended on larger areas.
π¨ Use Quality Products: Use good-quality paint and primers designed for the specific application.
π‘οΈ Apply Under Ideal Conditions: Avoid painting in extreme heat, cold, humid or damp conditions.
ποΈ Apply Thin Coats: Apply thin, even coats of paint rather than one thick coat, as this allows for proper drying and better adhesion.
