Community Livestock Workers - young South Africans, trained and equipped to be the local first responders for the cattle that hold rural economies together. The herds Abo Gogo have raised. The animals that pay school fees.
The livestock that feeds entire homesteads.
When CLW arrives in a community:
✅ A sick animal gets treatment before it becomes a loss
✅ A herd gets vaccinated on schedule, not eventually
✅ A smallholder farmer gets trusted, on-the-ground advice from someone who speaks their language and lives in their world
✅ A young person earns a dignified income doing work that matters - without leaving home to find it
This is what changes when CLW runs in your district. Healthier herds. Stronger rural economies. A generation of young people anchored in their communities, building up where they are instead of leaving for the cities.
CLW is delivered through the Afrigrow Development Institute, aligned to DSD priorities, and supported by Vodacom rural connectivity at our training centres.
This is not a programme that ends at certification. It's a programme that begins there.
