Adam is at it again 🦾
🚜 Farmers, your alarm protects the farmhouse.
What's protecting the rest of the farm?
Borehole pumps. Generators. Solar panels. Trailers. Irrigation equipment. They sit out in the open, often far from the house, and thieves know it.
Most farmers only find out the next morning
How Guardian works on a farm 🚜🛡️
We've had questions from farmers about Guardian, so here's a simple explanation of what it does and how it fits on a farm.
●What it is
Guardian is a wireless alarm sensor that mounts directly on the equipment you want to protect: borehole pumps, generators, solar panels, inverters, irrigation equipment, trailers and farm machinery.
●How it works
The sensor is calibrated to the specific item it's mounted on. If someone moves or tampers with it, the sensor tells a receiver at the farmhouse or guard room.
The receiver then sets off whatever you connect it to: a siren, your existing alarm panel, armed response, or a GSM dialer that phones you.
●Distance
Farms are big, so range matters. With trees and buildings in between, Guardian typically reaches hundreds of metres.
With clear line of sight, it reaches kilometres.
Because there are no cables back to the house, there's no trenching across fields.
●What happens if a thief cuts the power or breaks the sensor?
This is the most important part. The sensor and receiver check in with each other constantly.
If the receiver stops hearing from the sensor for any reason (power cut, sensor removed, signal jammed), it raises the alarm within seconds. Silence is treated as an alarm.
●Wind and vibration
Guardian has 10 sensitivity levels, so it can be set to ignore wind, rattling and passing vehicles while still picking up real tampering.
Several items, one receiver
A multi-channel receiver can watch up to 10 items (or more on custom builds), and each one shows separately, so you know exactly whether it was the pump, the generator or the trailer.
●Power
The sensor runs on 7–32 V DC, so it can use a battery, solar supply or existing equipment power.
It should be on a supply with battery backup so it stays on during load-shedding.
●Outdoor use
The electronics are fully sealed in potting compound, protected against rain, dust, moisture and insects.
●Running costs
None. No SIM card, no airtime, no internet, no app and no subscription.
Guardian is designed and built by AutoM8 in KwaZulu-Natal.
