Cape Town weather can change fast. Very fast.
One minute it’s blue skies and sunshine. A few hours later you can be dealing with driving rain, gale-force wind, flooding, hail or, as we saw again this morning, a proper thunderstorm rolling across the city.
Every photo and video in this post is real. These are moments we’ve captured ourselves around Cape Town over the past year or two. No AI. No stock footage. Just Cape Town doing what Cape Town does.
And that’s exactly why property maintenance cannot always be left until the weather turns.
A blocked outlet, loose roof tile, ageing waterproofing membrane, failed flashing or small crack might look harmless on a sunny day. When the weather changes suddenly, that small problem can become a very expensive one remarkably quickly.
Inspect your roof. Keep your gutters and outlets clear. Deal with known problems before the next front arrives.
Because in Cape Town, sunshine today is definitely not a guarantee of sunshine tomorrow.
Stay prepared. Stay safe. And when the weather gets serious, don’t take unnecessary chances trying to inspect a roof yourself.
