Swift Response to Motorcycle Accident

On 15 August 2026 at approximately 19:47, Kwena Fortis response officers attended to a reported motorcycle accident along Otto Du Plessis Drive in the Melkbosstrand area.

Upon arrival, emergency medical personnel were already attending to the injured motorcyclist. The rider sustained a leg injury and was treated on scene before being transported to a medical facility for further care.

The involved vehicle was subsequently removed from the scene by towing services.

Kwena Fortis, Disaster Risk Management, medical services, SAPS and other supporting agencies worked together to manage the scene and ensure the safety of those involved.

Community Assistance by Kwena Fortis

Kwena Fortis KF1 assisted a member of the Melkbos Neighbourhood Watch with a community safety matter at an underground parking area in the Melkbosstrand area.

Officers attended the scene and assisted with safely clearing unauthorised individuals from the premises.

The situation was resolved without further incident, and the area was secured.

Kwena Fortis Assists Following Reported Robbery Incident

On 16 August 2026, Kwena Fortis response officers were approaching the Astron Garage area in Melkbosstrand when Tango Lima observed a commotion near the intersection of 6th Avenue and Otto Du Plessis Drive.

Members of the public were attempting to stop an individual they believed may have been involved in a reported robbery and damage to property.

Kwena Fortis officers assisted in safely detaining the individual while the circumstances were assessed. Further investigation established that the detained individual was not involved in the reported incident, and he was subsequently released.

It was established that the affected members of the public had experienced a smash-and-grab incident earlier and had travelled to the Melkbosstrand area. No injuries were reported and no belongings were taken during the incident.

Law Enforcement assisted the affected parties and escorted them to Melkbos SAPS to report the damage to their vehicle.

Kwena Fortis Responds to Domestic Violence Incident

On 16 August 2026, Kwena Fortis response units received information regarding a reported domestic violence incident in the Sandown area.

Upon arrival, Kwena Fortis officers found supporting security personnel already on scene and made contact with the resident. The resident reported that an altercation had occurred and that medical assistance was required.

SAPS members subsequently arrived on scene and attended to the matter. The incident was formally reported to SAPS for further investigation.

Kwena Fortis officers remained on scene to assist where required and ensure the situation was managed safely. Once the appropriate authorities had taken over, all responding units cleared the scene.

Swift Response to Suspicious Item Found on Premises

On 15 August 2026, Kwena Fortis response units were called to assist at the Kwena Music premises after a security officer reported finding an item believed to be a firearm on the property.

A further inspection of the area identified an additional object near a window that appeared to warrant investigation. No evidence of forced entry was identified.

Kwena Fortis immediately requested SAPS assistance to assess the items and secure the scene. Table View SAPS attended and confirmed that the firearm-like item was not a functional firearm.

The situation was resolved without further incident, and all responding units subsequently cleared the scene.

Kwena Fortis Assists in Wanted Vehicle Response

On 12 August 2026 at approximately 10:45, Kwena Fortis response units received an alert regarding a vehicle of interest that had been detected within the area.

KF2 responded and, with the assistance of Complex Patrols, the vehicle was located at a nearby shopping complex. Kwena Fortis units, together with law enforcement and other security partners, maintained a presence while awaiting further developments.

The vehicle was subsequently stopped and searched by law enforcement. No fi****ms or illegal substances were found, and no wanted individuals were located inside the vehicle at the time.

The vehicle was released following the search and remains subject to further monitoring by the relevant authorities.

Swift Response to Residential Fire

On 9 August 2026 at approximately 16:22, a Kwena Fortis Security Officer stationed at a residential complex received a report of a fire at one of the units.

The Kwena Fortis Security Officer responded immediately and successfully extinguished the fire before further assistance arrived.

Response officers subsequently attended the scene and assisted residents in safely exiting the affected area. An elderly resident was also assisted outside and, as a precaution, medical assistance was requested.

Community Medics arrived on scene and assessed the resident. The situation was brought under control, and the scene was safely managed.

Kwena Fortis Responds to SAPS Backup Request

On 9 August 2026 at approximately 14:32, Kwena Fortis response officers received a request for assistance from SAPS regarding a reported incident in a greenbelt area within the community.

Kwena Fortis officers responded and made contact with SAPS members already on scene. Officers were informed that the individual involved could not be located at that time.

A search of the surrounding area was conducted by Kwena Fortis and SAPS units. No individuals matching the report were located, and the area was checked to ensure there were no further concerns.

The situation was assessed and, with no further assistance required, the responding units stood down.

Swift Response Following Reported Robbery🚨

On Saturday, 8 August 2026, while standing down in the Crasula Road area, Kwena Fortis response officers were approached regarding a reported robbery involving a member of the public.

The victim reported that personal property had been taken during the incident. A vehicle believed to be connected to the incident was pursued but managed to leave the area before further identification could be obtained.

Kwena Fortis officers assisted with the situation and remained vigilant in the surrounding area. The matter was reported for further investigation.

Swift Response to Motor Vehicle Accident 🚨

On 8 August 2026 at approximately 01:00, Kwena Fortis response units received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Oaklandhill Road.

Upon arrival, Star Alarms, Dias Towing and SAPS were already on scene. It was established that a black Mercedes had collided with the rear of a silver Honda.

SAPS attended to the incident and detained the driver of the Mercedes for further investigation.

Kwena Fortis officers assisted in managing the scene alongside the responding services. Once the necessary procedures had been completed, the scene was cleared and all responding units stood down.
