đźš§ Some of Mzansi's/RSA's most common soil types include:

Clay Soils – Often highly plastic and expansive. They absorb water, swell during wet seasons and shrink during dry periods, which can lead to foundation movement and structural cracking.
Sandy Soils – Drain water quickly and generally have lower cohesion.
Without proper compaction they may settle under heavy loads.
Gravelly Soils – Excellent load-bearing characteristics and commonly used in road construction because of their stability.
Silty Soils – Fine-grained soils that may lose strength when saturated, making them susceptible to erosion and settlement.
