Hard to keep on top of the social media posts, but finally getting around to it again...!
Some photos here of a recent project in Tipperary Town which is currently getting the final touches. We took the house apart (very carefully) and then put it back together again.
This project involved the demo of the old external walls of the house (100+ years old) to facilitate a more open plan layout downstairs. Upstairs saw the complete removal of all walls and floors to upgrade ceiling joists and reorientate the floor plan.
In addition to the aesthetic & structural modifications to the century old building, Grey Stone also carried out some significant energy upgrades while putting it back together.
All of the external walls were 'dry lined' with cavity drain membrane for damp proofing, and insulated plaster boards for reducing heat loss. These upgrades, along with attic insulation upgrade, brought the house from a very poor 'F' rating all the way up to a B rating. The homeowner also qualified for multiple grants to cover some of these upgrade costs.
Delighted with the way this one turned out. Working alongside on the plumbing side of the project also made things go very smoothly.!
