Decades ago, advanced research has shown that Agarwood can also be grown successfully in Sri Lanka and it is being done up to the world standards; where Walla Patta (Lankan Agarwood) tree belonging to same genus, and an endemic spicy, botanically known as Gyrinops walla, that is commonly seen as a sub canopy tree which grows in home gardens as well as in wet zone forests for centuries.
