This is a prime example of, "the grass is greener on the other side"... ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘

For this crew, that's usually because we just extended the fence ๐Ÿ˜†

Also in this case, it's w**ds. ๐Ÿคฃ but before long, the grass will be coming up and enjoying the new empty space!

Time to finish cutting and chipping!

The livestock are in there somewhere... but unlike when they first arrived (this was less than 24 hours in the paddock), now you can actually see them. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ

Depending on size and thickness of the paddocks location, the animals can be moved from 1 day to 3 days. It really depends on the land owners preference of clearing.

A little grazing, a little patience, and a whole lot of transformation. ๐ŸŒฟ

This little guy popped FOUR horns !!

Now, his mama is a Hungarian Racka breed sheep, so horns were to be expected.
But FOUR?! The surprise called for a message to our breeder, who informed us there may have been an accidental breeding with one of his Jacob breed Rams.

If you've never heard of a Jacob sheep... The breed holds genetics for 4-6 horns.

I am so excited for this little mistake, I've always been fascinated by 4 horn breeds ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿคฃ can't wait to share Woody's growth with you all! ๐Ÿ’™

These photos show the same grazing area from three different angles before and after our livestock got to work.

Thanks to K&A Meats out of Grey Summit!

Today was drop off day for the processing of our last two pigs.
In the past, we've done our own processing but with baby on the way and the selling of one of the pigs, the butcher shop processing was the much better option this time around.

We are absolutely so thankful for their ultimate sacrifice in feeding our families for many many meals to come.

Great question! ๐Ÿ‘

When we're setting up a grazing project, we often use what's called a Run --
a temporary lane made from electric netting that safely guides the sheep and goats from the trailer to their designated grazing area.

Think of it like a livestock hallway. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธโžก๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

The run allows us to:
โœ” Move animals safely across a property
โœ” Access hard-to-reach areas without chasing or stressing livestock
โœ” Keep the crew contained and on task

Once they reach their paddock, they get straight to work turning overgrowth into manageable vegetation. ๐ŸŒฑ

Whether it's a front yard, wooded acreage, pond dam, or the far back corner of a property, a well-planned run helps us get the crew exactly where they need to be.

Another day, another move for the grazing crew.

We're incredibly thankful for the landowners who trust us, and our livestock, with their properties. Every grazing project is an opportunity to provide a cleaner, eco-friendly approach to vegetation management while allowing our animals to do what they do naturally.

These before-and-after photos show what targeted grazing can accomplish when given time to work.

Notice what isn't here:
โŒ herbicides
โŒ heavy equipment
โŒ torn-up soil

Instead, our sheep and goats naturally reduced the vegetation, returned nutrients to the soil, and helped create conditions for healthier plant growth moving forward.

An added benefit? Many unwanted w**d seeds are destroyed during digestion rather than being spread throughout the property, helping reduce future w**d pressure while the animals naturally fertilize the soil. ๐ŸŒฑ
