Proud to see our systems at work!

Our basins stored over 4.14 million gallons of stormwater from a single storm 🌧️ We are happy to play a key role in protecting the community from flooding.

From April 14 to 15, the Village received around 2.0 inches of rain over a 3-hour period. ⛈️ The impact of this heavy rainfall was mitigated by the Neighborhood Storage Project. Over 4.14 million gallons of stormwater were stored (30% of the system capacity). This project significantly reduced the amount of water in Village streets, resident yards, & prevented sewer backups: https://loom.ly/MoI324w

Additionally, the Village’s Pump over Lift Station pumped an estimated 0.76 million gallons & the West Park Sanitary Storage Facility stored & pumped over 2.7 million gallons of sanitary sewer water. ☔ These facilities reduce sewer related basement back up & increase the capacity of the sanitary sewer system on the west side of the Village.

🌈 In total, the recent investments in the Village’s sewer systems mitigated 7.6 million gallons of rain water this past week!

Ganna Walska Lotusland, a beloved 37-acre public garden in California, has installed StormTrap to help capture, treat, and store stormwater runoff. StormTrap’s system will add 200,000 gallons of underground water storage, aiding Lotusland’s 2024 Master Plan for long-term water security.

The install included an 11’-4” detention system and a StormSettler , providing the pretreatment. A new pump was also installed as part of the overall system, allowing the captured water to be reused for on-site irrigation.

We are proud to be a part of Lotusland’s journey toward a water-secure future!
