Over the years, I’ve completed quite a few projects in the and area—almost always through word of mouth. Friends to friends, neighbors to neighbors. That’s exactly how this project came to be. Two long-time clients recommended me, and I’m grateful every time that happens.

This design includes a bench on the left. The original idea was for it to double as a step-up in case of an emergency exit through the basement window, but its main purpose is a large storage drawer and a comfortable spot to take a load off 😃.

This Murphy bed is built entirely from hard maple and maple ply. It features five LARGE solid-maple drawers with dovetailed 5/8" thick drawer boxes and 1/2" bottom panels—no saggy 1/4" bottoms here! Every drawer rides smoothly on soft-close undermount slides, and all doors are soft-close as well.

I also upgraded the overlay doors and drawer fronts to inset and added embedded, dimmable LED lighting to the undersides of the shelves at no extra cost to my clients. While building, it just felt like exactly what the project needed.

My clients absolutely knocked it out of the park with their color choices—brushed brass and Carnelian. Total Gryffindor vibes!

This was a fun project from start to finish, and I truly appreciate my clients trusting me with both their project and their home.

It’s been BUSY!
So busy, in fact, I haven’t had much time to post. But I wrapped this one up not long ago and wanted to share.
The clients needed a drop zone — the closet had to go. I pulled the door, cut out the drywall, added framing where needed, and dropped the bench in place. Once the benchtop was set, that’s when things got serious.
The upper section weighed at least 180 lbs, measured 27 inches deep, and stood over 7 feet tall. It had to fit perfectly into the opening — no room for error, and definitely no scratching the bench top. Did I mention I installed it by myself? Thankfully, it went in smooth. Thats the Precision way!
I even added a second row of hooks for the kids at no extra charge.
The clients were thrilled with how it turned out — and so was I. I’m currently working on a LARGE project that includes a full Kitchen, laundry room and dining room. I’m building and designing and painting and installing and running estimates 😃 At the same time. No sweat 😎

I still have a few touch ups and need to put on the handles, but this floating dresser/entertainment center turned out great! I designed this to be sturdy, simple and beautiful, and then built it. What do you think?

It’s been extremely busy in the shop lately — 12 to 14 hour days are becoming the norm! 😃 I’m very thankful for the work.
Right now, I’m working on a pair of bedroom entertainment centers for my clients, Al and Thara. They’re truly incredible people — not just for the work they’ve provided, but for the quality of their character. So hospitable, personable, and kind.

One of the two entertainment centers is finished, and the second should be ready to install by this weekend. After that, I’ll be jumping into a full kitchen cabinet build, along with a laundry room and dining room build-out in Nashville, Indiana, for Randy.

Today, I also got the go-ahead to start on a beautiful mudroom project for Jessica and Matt. On top of that, there are several estimates still out and new ones coming in daily.

As a carpenter, it truly doesn’t get better than building things you enjoy—for genuinely excellent people! In this case, it was a lot of things for two VERY excellent people.

I took on all the projects in their home at once, so there was a lot going on! I was building parts and pieces for each job while priming, painting, assembling, installing… it was a full production. 😄

The Office
This space got a custom built-in desk featuring maple-inlaid panels that align perfectly with the bookcase face frames. The desktop and shelves are stained to match the flooring, and it’s finished with dimmable recessed lighting, soft-close doors and drawers, and a precision fit that feels like it’s always belonged in the room. It’s a large piece that brings a ton of character to an already interesting space.

The Laundry Room
This area also got the full Precision treatment: custom cabinetry, a farmhouse sink, floating shelves, a custom butcher block countertop, and a hanging rod for clothes. Huge credit to my client Thara—she has an amazing eye for color coordination and picked out the entire scheme!

The Guest Room
Finally, the guest bedroom got what every guest room needs: a custom king-sized Murphy bed. Standing 9 feet tall and 10 feet wide, this piece is a statement. It doubles as both storage and a display area when folded up—and when company comes to stay, it folds down into a massive, comfy bed. When the guests leave? Back up it goes, and you’ve got “so much more room for activities! “ That’s a quote from the movie Step-Brothers🤣

Project #2 of 4 at this home is nearly in the books—and I’ve got to say, this one was a blast! Huge shoutout to my awesome clients! It’s always a privilege to bring these spaces to life for great people. I have worked closely with them to dial in on designs and they have made it super easy with a clear vision of what they were looking for right down to the colors and hardware.

This laundry room started with some light demo and prep: I took out the old wash sink and gave the space a fresh coat of white paint. From there, I built all the cabinetry and the countertop by hand in my shop—every piece custom, every detail dialed in. Once everything was ready, I delivered, installed, plumbed in the new sink, and finished it all off with some clean crown molding. I have a few minor touch ups on the ol’ punch out list but the improvement to this space has been HUGE!

Up next for this home: a king-sized Murphy bed with tons of shelving, followed by a full home office for two. Can’t wait to share more—stay tuned!
