Hope you’re all having a Great Xmas…
I’m gearing up for 2026 but would like to share two photos taken about 11 years apart.
My son and I had a great day down at Beamish this week and thought we would re enact an install I did years ago…
It’s in the bakery, both are maturing well.

The chap on the right says that there is nothing wrong with his flue and declined my pricing to sort out his dangerous install.
Have a look at the one on the left.
For any solid fuel,and if you have a bird guard, it has to be at least a 1” square section( check out the beautiful fit on the left)….
Do you see the difference??
This chap will either have a massive chimney fire or probably suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning quite soon.
Sadly, he hired a non registered sweep, no certification was given and absolutely no come back regarding the chaps issues.
This flue was swept recently but the cowl was never swept?
There is a reason why we always recommend what we recommend….
It keeps out public liability Insurance to a minimum too!

If you know where I live, this event will happen adjacent to my house. I look forward to the chimney fire…. It will be spectacular!
I reckon at least 7 course of brick will vacate the building..

On the brighter side, still got a few days left before Santa comes if you need me..

In the quieter times, I fit stoves and these two fits were completed this week.
We reconfigured two old ranges keeping the original features but adapted them to take eco friendly stoves.
Great conversions for everyday modern living.
Quirky too!

I never even knew Trump was a sweep! Here at Hot Rods Chimney Sweep, we will keep our tariffs the same as last year.
