Pics or it didn’t happen, right? Had the honor of making a cherry pulpit for my friend Darrin Cherry (no, it’s not just a pun). I’m thankful to play a small part in accommodating the preaching of the word at Grassrootswv in Lewisburg. Praise God for what He’s doing there!

Here’s a cherry table top I’m finishing up soon. How gorgeous are the features in this top?

This process is called raising or “popping” the grain. Wiping the top with water keeps the surface from feeling rough after finish is applied. It’s the little things that make all the difference!

You can also get a sneak peek in the background of my new location in Ona.

Check out this one-of-a-kind spalted maple console table! This one in particular is 42 inches wide and 26 inches tall, which fits perfectly underneath wall art and cabinets. These can be made to match or complement the height of furniture such as couches and beds, and can even be fitted with plugins, usb chargers, or even wireless chargers. This one is available for purchase, and custom sizes are made to order. Could you imagine this with some matching side tables or bookshelves?

Where could you see this in your house?

Future carpenter in the making! My little man thinks he's the boss of Daddy's workshop, while his big sisters have a scrap wood business to manage 😂

After “corporate” wrapped up today, I got to work on this cherry table base. The legs are assembled with mortise-and-tenon joints (traditional style, with no fasteners) that will probably outlast you and me!

Kids love sand pits. Parents loathe sand pits. Why? Because sand gets EVERYWHERE. When your kid plays in a sand pit, you can count on sand getting in their shorts, socks, and shoes, and covering their shirt tails and rear ends. If only we could minimize the mess…

Our family solved that problem a couple years ago with this sand/sensory table. It keeps little hands and minds occupied while keeping your kiddo’s body out of the sand. This way your child can scratch the dirt-digging itch without all the cleanup and extra laundry duties. It can be used indoors or outdoors, and the sand can be swapped out for water or sensory materials/objects. This sand/sensory table has been a game changer for our family!

Know someone who might -dig- this table? Tag them in a comment or share this post with them!

Finally getting to do what I love! Shout out to Heather Baldwin and her crew for getting the HVAC going! Now my glue and finish are happy, which makes me happy. Next step in the shop: electrical. More lights and outlets will improve quality and work flow, freeing up time for me to concentrate on finer points and details.

How about this combined glue up? This amalgamation will become four cherry table legs when the pieces come out of clamps and get squared up. Jorgensen parallel clamps for the win!

Working on getting heat in the shop for these frigid days. I don’t mind the cold, but the glue does!

I love having the freedom to create! Did you know that our Creator intended for mankind to /form/ what He /made/ into things of beauty? Creativity comes from having been made in the image of a creative God! Here's a glimpse into where all your custom work begins: the design process (and why there's a giant pile of wood in the workshop)!

Next step: cutting boards to length in preparation for dimensioning!

Welcome to the official woodworking business page of Travis Edwards. I’m excited to announce that this will be my full-time job from here on out! My motivation is Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,”. Perfect? No. Close? Hopefully.

I’m licensed and I’ve signed a lease on what will be my new wood shop in West Hamlin (progress pictures as they come!!). Not only do I plan to use the new shop to create custom pieces, but I plan to host workshops and tutorials for students of all ages!

Please support this new endeavor by giving me a like and follow. You’ll be the first to know when completed projects are available to view or purchase, as well as when community events will take place. Thank you for reading, and I hope to serve YOU soon!
