Ranae Ihme (pictured left) is our owner, broker and leading salesperson. She has been selling real estate in Glen Arbor for over 15 years and knows the real estate and rental market in this area inside and out after also owning Leelanau Vacation Rentals for over 20 years (and helping to found the company with her mother in law, Linda Ihme!). She still works closely with Vacasa (the country's largest vacation rental company who purchased Leelanau Vacation Rentals) to refer renters who are buying and wish to rent their property. Ranae has an uncanny knowledge of the buying and selling process in this area, and can lead anyone seamlessly through the process. Her s***k and enthusiasm are unmatched! Ranae has been married to Bob (pictured center) since 2000.
Bob Ihme (pictured center) is an active salesperson at Leelanau Vacation Realty, and is also the owner of our in-house sister company, Glen Arbor Outdoor. As Glen Arbor Outdoor maintains almost every condominium association at The Homestead, Bob knows the resort and all of its nuances better than most! He has close relationships with the condo associations and their boards, thoroughly knows their policies, and often, their future plans. He has managed Glen Arbor Outdoor since 1995, taking over for his father, Bob Sr, who began the company in the 1980's. If you see his friendly face out and about on the grounds of The Homestead, stop and say hello!
Angela DeWitt (pictured right) is our in-house photographer, marketer, and office manager at Leelanau Vacation Realty. She also has her real estate license and is involved in the transaction process of every sale. If you are buying or selling a property with Leelanau Vacation Realty, you will be in contact with Angela! In 2012, Angela began her marketing position at Leelanau Vacation Rentals and received her real estate license in 2015, becoming more active in the realty side at that time. Meet Neil! Neil is the son of our owners, Bob and Ranae Ihme. He’s the sandy blonde haired, 6’5” soon to be senior at Glen Lake you’ve likely seen at The Homestead or around town mulching, w**d whacking, blowing leaves, or picking up trash. Neil plans to head off to college next fall, obtain a business degree, and ultimately would like to follow in his father and grandfather’s footsteps and take over and run GAO some day! If you see him out and about, say hello!

We do very little lawn care and focus on general exterior home maintenance such as shrub trimming, w**ding, mulch application with a mulch machine,snow removal, property and light checks, and power washing.

NO POWER UPDATE: Glen Arbor, Empire, and a good portion of Maple City have been without power since yesterday afternoon, 12/16, and at this time (9am on 12/17), the ETA for restoration isn’t until Saturday, 12/18 between 4pm and 10:30pm. Glen Lake Schools also had this ETA and their power is back, so we’re hoping these times may be an overstretch. We’ll keep you posted and will let you know when power returns! PS…Andersons and Art’s have generators if you just want to eat or imbibe 😉 As does most of Traverse City.
Leelanau was hit last night by 60 MPH winds and 64 degree temps. The wind is still going strong. This has caused a lot of trees to fall, has closed roads, and taken out power. Please know that if you have property that we manage or oversee in some way, we’ve been out canvassing all morning, checking for any tree damage or anything else alarming. So far everyone is okay, and all homes/condos appear okay, but we wanted to give you an update from the north! We’ll be in touch if any damage is found!
It may be snowing now, but it’s been an unseasonably warm and dry winter for Northern Michigan. We’re not complaining though. The warm weather allowed us to squeeze in a couple more foundation excavations before the spring!
