Yeeeee Haaaaa. Our hydroponic trellis grown cantaloupe is ready. One down - seven more to go. I read different thoughts on when to pick cantaloupe. I wait until it falls off the vine/trellis and try to get to it before the ants do. Original seeds came from True Leaf Market microgreens that had left over. Grown with a VERTI-GRO setup and nutrients.

Loving what I am seeing....there are only the two of us. Looks like I'll need to step up my canning game this year.

Yee-haw. Finally the cantaloupe is fruiting. Just another 30 - 40 days from delicious. Oh yes, that is a Red Malabar Spinach from True Leaf Market in the middle of all of the cantaloupe. It's not really spinach, but it tastes great and can withstand summer heat. A little side note, the cantaloupe came also from True Leaf Market, but as microgreen seeds. This year's plants are second generation out from that original package of seeds.
