While summer may be officially over, it can still get bloody hot in March and April in Australia.

For those of us who own caravans or are planning to go on a road trip over Easter, it's crucial to have a reliable air conditioning system installed and working at it's best.

Caravan air conditioning systems are specifically designed to keep you comfortable in even the hottest of temperatures, though they DO have limitations. They're not likely to give you 20 degree comfort inside when the outside temperature is a scorching 40 degrees. And it probably won't help if the kids are leaving the doors open like this lass 🤣

So if you're planning a road trip or already own a caravan, consider investing in a high-quality air conditioning system. It will make all the difference in keeping you cool and comfortable, even in the hottest of Australian weather! ☀️🚐❄️

There's nothing quite like being in the great outdoors and enjoying nights like this one!

The only thing that makes it better is knowing your van's air-con is operating properly and you won't be heading inside to a little sweat box 😂

Give Rob a call on 0447 000 044 before you head off and check that your van's air-con is working as it should.

If you are heading away this long weekend, be safe! Here are Rob's top tips!

➡ Check your caravan before you leave: Before hitting the road, it is essential to check your caravan's brakes, lights, tires, and coupling. Make sure they are in good working condition and meet the legal requirements.

➡ Check the weather conditions: Keep an eye on the weather forecast, especially if you are traveling to an area that is prone to bushfires or floods. Be prepared and have a plan in case of an emergency.

➡ Plan your route: Plan your route in advance, and make sure you are familiar with the road conditions and any road closures. Avoid driving at night, and take regular breaks to avoid fatigue.

➡ Secure your load: Make sure that all the items inside the caravan are secured and won't move around while you are driving. Overloading your caravan can also affect its stability, so be sure to check your caravan's weight capacity.

➡ Drive safely: Always adhere to the speed limits and drive safely. Stay alert and be aware of other drivers, particularly when towing a caravan. Avoid sudden movements, such as swerving or braking, as this can affect the stability of the caravan.

➡ Be prepared for emergencies: Make sure you have a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, and a mobile phone with you. It's also a good idea to have an emergency kit with some basic supplies such as water, food, and blankets.

➡ Follow campsite rules: When you arrive at your campsite, make sure you follow the rules and guidelines, particularly with regards to campfires and littering. Respect the environment and leave the campsite in the same condition as you found it.

Remember, safety is paramount when it comes to caravan travel, so always take the necessary precautions and enjoy your trip!

And if your air-con decides to pack it in while you're on the road, give Rob a call for advice! 0447 000 044.

Caravan air conditioning refers to the system that is installed in a caravan, RV, or motorhome to cool and dehumidify the air inside the vehicle. There are different types of caravan air conditioning systems available, but they generally work in the same way as air conditioning units for homes and other buildings.

The most common type of caravan air conditioning system is a roof-mounted unit, which is installed on the roof of the caravan and uses the outside air to cool and dehumidify the inside air. These systems are usually powered by electricity, either from the vehicle's battery or from an external power source.

There are also portable air conditioning units that can be used in caravans, but these are generally less efficient and effective than roof-mounted units.

When choosing a caravan air conditioning system, it is important to consider the size of the caravan, the climate you will be traveling in, and your power needs. A professional installer can help you choose the right system for your needs and ensure that it is installed properly. It is also important to regularly maintain and clean your caravan air conditioning system to ensure that it works properly and efficiently.

If you're having trouble with your air conditioning, give me a call on 0447 000 044.

Often I am able to talk you through fixing the issue yourself over the phone and save you the expense of a callout.

Cheers, Rob.
