2015 Fiat 500e towed in and would not ready up. Don't see too many of these and not sure how this problem was created, but have some good guesses...Nothing too special and definitely an easy fix the instructions were on the part, but maybe someone will learn from this... Plugged my trusty Autel scan tool and was let down when it would not communicate with all the modules on the vehicle and of course none of the important ones.. Pulled out the laptop and ran an old version of wiTech (oem tool) and had full communication. Once I saw the interlock code and noticed the back seat cushion was loose I knew just where to start... Service disconnect looked to be in place but as you can see in the video once I grab the plug it lifts right out. Should have had to release the cam lock lever. Reset the lever to the open position and installed and now the car was happy again... bolted the seat cushion back down for them also...

2009 Ford Escape hybrid towed in from another shop with a no start condition. Code scanned and retrieved code P0A7D Hybrid Battery Low State of Charge. Monitored live data with scan tool and battery was at 265 volts, way too low to turn the engine over and start. Found out from the owner that the vehicle has sat unused for an extended period of time. Unfortunately starting in 09 they removed the high voltage jump start feature... I removed the pack to access high voltage terminals to recharge and get this Escape back on the road. Thankfully Ford left the wiring for the onboard charger still in the pack so accessing pack voltage at two terminals was easier than expected. Hooked up the ACDC high voltage charger and brought the pack up to a charged level over the course of a day. Reinstalled the pack and started right up with no more error codes. Went for and extended test drive and everything was now operating properly.

****CAUTION****
DO NOT TRY TO COPY SERIOUS BODILY HARM AND DEATH POSSIBLE WHEN WORKING WITH HIGH VOLTAGE!!!!
Now that the warning is stated here is a side project that I have been working on for my black gen 2 Prius. I have seen many dual pack Prius attempts and most don't work out all that well and some have catastrophic failures from not being monitored by the battery ecu. This is my attempt at a double capacity pack, the two packs were combined to make one along with custom wiring harnesses to allow the battery ecu to monitor it as one... Have it now powered up on the bench and connected to a scan tool and I am getting the proper voltage readings on my blocks... looks like it should work in the car, going to work on installing and making the ventilation and cooling system. Once the battery is in the car I will make a grid charger that I can top off with at night or during work and hopefully use my EV mode switch to make most of my very short commute without gas...

Had to move a civic pack off the workbench to start on this Gen 2 Prius pack tonight. Block number five going low, almost 2 volts difference under load. Removed the cover and found one of the two modules 1.2 volts less than the other, that one is obviously bad. There are a couple other suspect modules noticed when going through the recorded data that are starting to get a little out of balance they will also be addressed while the pack is apart.

2008 Honda Civic hybrid with check engine light, IMA and red battery lights on dash. Vehicle had no assist or charging and battery gauge with no bars. Hooked up the scan tool and code scanned, retrieved P0A3F Motor Rotor Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction.
Next step was to check all fuses since the vehicle had been worked on prior to me being called... I found the 10amp fuse for the motor control module blown in the auxiliary fuse box. Cleared the code and it came right back, but the fuse did not blow. The next step was to access the 20 pin connector on the motor control module and check the rotor position circuits for a short to ground, no problem found there. Next was to check the resistance of the 3 position sensor circuits and found all 3 to be within the given specifications and points to an internal fault in the motor control module. Drove back to the shop and grabbed one off the shelf and replaced the faulty one in the vehicle. Reset the position sensor calibration with the scan tool and the Honda Civic hybrid is back on the road again.
