This is up at the farm in Rocky Point. We have lots of work to do and I choose to celebrate🌅. Farm Update
BIG NEWS!!!! WE got a well. Over the next few months, we will install lines to get water to the flowers. This is so exciting. It is amazing to me how awesome many flowers have done without the extra water. I have learned a lot. The best part is that I will now have the ability to water in seedlings when I plant new flower beds. Over the past year or so, I have had to wait until rainy days to seed and add new plants. Some made it and others did not.
The last few photos are of the flowers I picked at the farm today. Pretty good with the extreme heat index. I will pick more to add to bouquets here at the house/home garden for the market on Saturday. 🦋

Saturday, August 22nd is the final day to sign up for a Fall Flowers Subscription.
The Fall Flowers Subscription will begin at the end of August/beginning of September. 5 total deluxe bouquets. One bouquet, available for pick-up or delivery, every other week through the middle of November. Sunflowers, dahlias, heirloom mums, cosmos, zinnias and more! Fall flowers will be here before we know it. I can already tell such a difference in the plants now that the days are a bit shorter. The plants have more time to recover from the heat of the day. Sunset today will be at around 8:08 pm, by the end of this month, sunset will be closer to 7:30 pm. This rain has helped the plants tremendously as well. I was able to plant a few 100 sunflowers plus some other very special specialty cut flowers. The native plants have been the heroes of the garden over the past month. They survived the heat, humidity, and drought and thrived. They also helped keep all the beneficial insects happy this summer. This will help the fall flowers be even more beautiful.

What plants are attracting the most pollinators to your garden today? 1st place here is the awesome Joe Pye W**d. There are at least 10 different species buzzing around. Some are sooo small. I think they are waiting for for the large bumblebees to take a break. 2nd place is Blue Vervain. 3rd place is the Bidens aristosa, Swamp Marigold. It is just starting to buzz. 🐝

Dahlias, gladiolas, lisianthus and more. Gardening is tough in this heat and the heat is hard on the plants. Many plants are going to get cut back hard today. They will regrow slowly and be absolutely gorgeous for the fall. Fall flower subscriptions are open for sign ups on the website. Check it out and let me know if you have any questions. Fall flowers will begin around the beginning of September.
