🪵STUMP GRINDING vs. STUMP REMOVAL

We get this question all the time — what’s the difference? And which one do I actually need?

Here’s a simple breakdown 👇

🪵 Stump Grinding:

• Grinds the stump down below ground level
• Roots stay in place and naturally decompose over time
• Faster and typically more cost-effective
• Great option ( and MOST common) for most residential properties

🌳 Stump Removal (Full Root Ball Removal):

• Entire stump and root system are dug out
• More complete removal
• Requires heavier equipment
• Leaves a larger hole that will need backfill

Most homeowners choose grinding, but there are situations where full removal makes sense, especially if you’re planning to replant in the area or doing major landscaping changes.

Not sure which direction is right for your property? That’s what we’re here for.

We provide free on-site estimates and will walk you through the pros and cons based on your goals, your yard, and your budget.

⭐️ Not much means more to us than repeat customers ⭐️

We work hard every single day to deliver a true 5-star experience — not just in the quality of the work, but in how we treat people.

The greatest compliment we can receive isn’t just a review… it’s when a customer calls us back again. And again. And tells their friends, family, and neighbors about us.

That tells us we’re doing something right.

We believe in providing the kind of service we would want for our own home — clear communication, fair pricing, respect for your property, and work done the right way.

To every customer who has trusted us more than once and shared our name with someone they care about… thank you. That means everything to a local, family operated business like ours. 🌳💚

🌳 Hypoxylon Canker and Your Trees⬇️

Hypoxylon is a common fungal disease that affects stressed trees, especially oak trees like live oaks and water oaks here in Southeast Texas.

The fungus is actually present in many environments, but it typically only takes hold when a tree becomes stressed from things like:

• Drought
• Root damage
• Soil compaction
• Construction impact
• Extreme heat

⚠️ Signs to watch for:

• Thinning canopy or early leaf drop
• Bark peeling or sloughing off
• Gray, silver, or dark crusty patches on the trunk
• Rapid decline

Once visible on the trunk, there is unfortunately no treatment.

The good news? There’s not much to “prevent” because healthy trees generally resist it well. That’s why monitoring tree health and identifying stress early is so important.

Regular tree health inspections can help catch stress before it turns into a bigger issue.

If you have oaks and want peace of mind, we provide free on-site tree inspections and are always happy to take a look.

🌳 Thinking about replanting after a tree removal? Read this first 👇

This time of year, we start getting lots of questions about planting new trees after one has been removed. We LOVE seeing folks reinvest in their property 🌿 but there are a few things to consider first.

🚫 Don’t plant right in the exact same spot.

Here’s why:
• The old root system is still underground and will compete for space as it decomposes
• The soil may be compacted from equipment used during removal
• Nutrients may be depleted from the previous tree
• You can run into grinding debris or leftover root flare material

🌱 Instead, shift your planting spot a few feet away and refresh the soil.
Loosen it up. Add organic matter. Give that new tree the best possible start.

Also think about:
☀️ Sun exposure
🏠 Distance from structures
💧 Drainage
🌬️ Wind patterns
📏 Mature size of the tree

Planting smart today saves headaches later.

If you’re planning new trees this season or just not sure what makes sense for your property, we’re happy to help. We provide free on-site tree inspections and estimates and can walk you through your options so you have a solid plan moving forward.
