It was a beautiful day to mow this field! There were quite a few trees to work around, so I took my time and carefully navigated around each one. Jobs like this require a little extra patience, but the finished result is worth it.

Another property cleaned up and looking great! If you have an overgrown field or property that needs attention, contact Tompkins Hired Hand for a free estimate.

A fallen tree was blocking this customer’s trail entrance, so I cut it up, cleared the debris, and restored access to the woods.

Whether you need fallen trees removed, overgrown trails cleared, brush cut back, or general property cleanup, I am here to help take care of what you’ve worked so hard for.

Another busy day for Tompkins Hired Hand!

After getting the kids on the bus, I started the morning with a trip to the scrapyard to dispose of the old fencing from yesterday’s job. Then it was on to today’s project: trimming the lower branches from several trees so the property owner could mow underneath them without getting hit.

I also cut back three overgrown Flamingo Willow bushes and gathered all the trimmings into one large burn pile for the customer.

Sometimes a few hours of property maintenance can make a big difference in how easily you can care for and enjoy your land.

Spent the day in North Wolcott helping reclaim an overgrown section of property.

Before I could even get the brush hog through it, there was old cattle fencing and fence posts buried throughout the brush that needed to come out. I pulled the old fencing, removed the posts, hauled out a truckload of wire, knocked back the brush, and brush hogged the area.

Quite a difference a day’s work can make!

A day off well spent with the family!

Working a full-time job while trying to grow Tompkins Hired Hand on the side takes a lot of time. There’s always another job that could be done, another project to finish, or something that needs attention.

But part of why I’m building THH is to give my family more opportunities to do things like this. Today we put the work aside and spent the day at Green Lakes hiking, fishing, swimming, and letting the kids enjoy the playground.

Building something takes time, but so does building memories with your family. Sometimes you have to make the time for both.
Today was for them.

Mowed the lawn tonight with my daughter riding with me on the tractor.

I realized this might be the last year she’s small enough to fit up there with me.

So instead of just trying to get the lawn done, I tried to soak it in. I showed her what I was doing, how everything worked, and let her be part of it.

Before long, she won’t be sitting with me anymore. She’ll be big enough to be in the seat herself.

It’s easy to get caught up in the work that needs to get done—the next job, the next project, the next thing on the list. But sometimes the moments that seem the smallest are the ones we’ll miss the most.

Teach them while they’re little. Let them ride along. Let the job take a little longer.

Someday, you’d give anything for one more lap around the yard with them sitting beside you.

They won’t stay little forever.

What a difference a year makes.

One year ago today, I brush hogged this field for the first time. It was completely overgrown and filled with weeds and brush.

After several mowings over the past year, the transformation is pretty incredible. Grass is starting to take over and it's finally looking like a field again.

Sometimes property cleanup isn't a one-day transformation—it takes consistency.

3 Brush Hogging Jobs in One Saturday.

A busy Saturday putting the tractor to work!

Started the morning loading up the tractor, fueling up, and hitting the road. The first stop was Williamson, NY, where I had two separate fields that needed to be brush hogged. After getting both of those knocked down, I loaded everything back up and headed out to Wolcott, NY, for the last job of the day—an abandoned property that had become pretty overgrown.

Three properties. Two towns. One long Saturday.

Days like this can be tiring, but every job means something more than just another field getting mowed. At the end of the day, I'm just a dad trying to provide for his family, build something of my own, and hopefully show my kids what can come from putting in the work.

I appreciate every person who has trusted Tompkins Hired Hand with their property and everyone who follows along and supports this little business. One job at a time.

If you're in the Wayne/Monroe County area and have an overgrown field, pasture, or property that needs brush hogging or tractor work, reach out to Tompkins Hired Hand.

Thanks for watching!
