Some say a great beard takes patience, commitment, and regular maintenance — but we’d add a supportive wife, a patient family, and a co-worker who’s willing to put up with it all. 😂

Behind the Vents - Tip #3

If your HVAC system is running in short, frequent bursts, it may be short cycling.

Short cycling occurs when a system shuts down before completing a proper heating or cooling cycle, then starts back up again too soon.

Why does it matter?

- More wear and tear on system components
- Higher energy use and reduced efficiency
- Inconsistent comfort as the system struggles to maintain temperature

Short cycling can be caused by anything from airflow issues and dirty filters to controls or equipment problems.

An occasional cycle is normal. Frequent short cycling is worth investigating.

Behind the Vents - Tip #1

Set your thermostat's fan to "Auto," not "On." Running the fan constantly pushes air through the system nonstop, including past a dirty filter, and can actually raise energy costs instead of improving comfort. Auto lets it run only when needed, keeping those downsides in check.

Back to school means back to business! The easiest thing to check before the halls fill back up is your air filters. A fresh filter keeps air moving easily and takes some load off your system. Small swap, nice payoff. Anyone else knocking out their back-to-school HVAC checklist this week?
