Last week, our team completed a major upgrade at the City of Derby Wastewater Treatment Facility by replacing two existing surface aerators with two new 200 HP aerators supplied by OVIVO on their existing Oxidation Ditch. Oxidation ditches are a critical part of the wastewater treatment process. They use controlled aeration and biological activity to break down organic matter and remove pollutants from wastewater before it moves on to the next stage of treatment. The surface aerators provide the oxygen and mixing needed to keep this biological process operating effectively. The new 200 HP aerators will provide improved aeration and mixing, helping the facility maintain a more consistent and efficient treatment process!
This project was a great example of what can be accomplished through strong collaboration. It took the combined efforts of Dondlinger, Allied Crane, the City of Derby, Professional Engineering Consultants, and Burns & McDonnell to successfully bring this work across the finish line.
