An ode to Cardinal Basil…
This was our first year to grow Cardinal Basil, and it has made it to the must grow list moving forward.

I will always grow Juliet tomatoes! This one set during the insane 100 F + weather that we had during August and the first of this month. My hopes were for a few more tomatoes before the frost, so this one was a nice surprise.

Fall is finally here and we’re celebrating all the seasonal flavors at the farmers market at our 🍂Flavors of Fall 🍂 market on October 10th!

Our vendors will be harvesting, baking, and making all things autumnal plus we have some fun activities planned.

Tomato Plant set fruit in temps over 100 F! Y’all this was a neat little surprise! Some of the plants under the shade cloth have still managed to set fruit, but this plant is in the sun for most of the day. Of course I cannot remember the variety. I thought it was Juliet, but more likely Texas Devil or San Marzano. Jessica King

Farm update 8-27-26 - The +105 F has broken! The plants, birds and insects are happy! Please send prayers and positive vibes for the animals and people in the path of the Ross fire located in Palo Pinto and Jack county Texas as well as the people who have come from all over the state to help fight the fire and rescue animals.

It’s been a rough day. We lost Dolly Parton, there is a 50,000 acre wildfire not far from us and fires have been popping up all over our area. It has been over well over 100 F here for at least the past 20 days with no rain. I would need to go back and check, but the highs on most of these days have ranged between 104 F - 112 F. We are really in survival mode at this point. I keep water stations for the birds and insects that are checked morning, noon, and evening. The garden looks horrible, but it’s the one place where there are bumble bees, butterflies and birds. Praying for cooler temperatures and rain. Climate change is not coming, we are here and living it. summer
