A little desk with a fresh new chapter. ✨

This child’s desk was ready for a refresh, and instead of covering up the beautiful wood grain with paint, my client chose to preserve its character.

I refinished it using a rich gel stain followed by a durable gel sealer, bringing new life to the finish while allowing the natural beauty of the wood to shine through. The updated hardware completes the look with a timeless touch.

I remember the days when my budget was tight. I’d look around my house and know it needed a fresh look, but buying new furniture simply wasn’t in the budget. So, I learned to get creative—painting a piece here, refinishing a table there—just to brighten up a room and make the space feel new again.

Recently, a client came to me with a set of end tables. She knew she wanted a change, but wasn’t quite sure what direction to take. Initially, she considered stripping and restaining them, but after meeting and discussing different possibilities, we came up with a plan that gave the tables a completely refreshed look while still honoring their character.

Going outside of my comfort zone - always pushing my limits out a little further. While I upholster furniture, and besides restoration of furniture, what’s the difference in restoring pontoon boat seats? Type of fabric, type of foam, shaping of the new foam, waterproofing the seat boards and foam along with some small variations in the technique. I never thought about it until I was approached. So, I’m there!
