Happy New Year from us at Craig Painting and Remodeling. Thanks for a great year. Keep an eye out for new projects and updates on our page.
Here’s another beautiful transformation. We turned this underutilized basement into a fully functional one. Converted the storage area to a more livable area and added a bedroom.
The Kilroys were amazing to work with and are over the moon with how it turned out.
Take a look at the finished product. I don’t think their son will ever leave this basement.
We ended up fully insulating the entire space with safe and sound. It will help with noise and keeping the temperature regulated. White ceilings and trim pop against the tan walls. New LED lights throughout really brightened the room. Life proof fully water proof floors are ran throughout giving the entire basement a seamless look.
Some bathrooms you get excited to see the finished product. When I saw the design for this one, I knew it would be special.
We started fresh with this one. Gutted everything that screamed early 2000s. No more brown tile, brown paint, brown granite, etc. We also got rid of the tub and gave the home owner a nice large shower.
Large format porcelain tile accompany the high end marble focal wall in the shower. We tiled the drain to make it disappear and the white grout ties the different tiles together. We used a beautiful quartz for the counter top and sill for the shower. Polished nickel fixtures adorn the shower, sink and towel bars. The painted vanity with soft close doors and full extension drawer completes the modern look-but the Toto toilet takes the show. Auto flush, auto opening, bidet with temperature controlled water and dryer.
Please watch the video in the comments, it’s pretty unbelievable.
We are waiting for the shower doors but I couldn’t wait to show this off.
A little sneak peek of some amazing tile we are using in a bathroom remodel. I’m excited to show everyone how this turned out.
Here is a basement we just finished. With a growing family, the homeowners needed more space. We converted the unfinished basement into a great place to enjoy company and relax with the kids.
It has a full bath with a walk in doorless shower. Nice size wet bar with beverage cooler. Plenty of room for the parents as well as room for the kids to play. We opened up the wall at the bottom of the stairs to help it flow into the basement. Vinyl waterproof floors were installed from the new sliding doors to inside the bathroom. Carpet added comfort to the remainder of the space. All LED lighting gives you plenty of light along with years of usage. Granite countertops finish off the wet bar with matching tile backsplash. The full bathroom has a great shower. The accent tile was laid vertically and gives a really cool effect of “pouring” onto the shower floor. We also replaced the standard slider with new ones that have the blind in between the glass. We added metal under the deck to help run the water away from the house and keeping this area dry. Now they can use this an an extension of their living space.
We hope the homeowners love their new space and they enjoy it for years to come.
Here is another master bathroom. It was a complete gut. We removed the corner soaking tub and small shower area. Added heat in the floors, a large shower with a seat, free standing tub and dual vanities with extra storage between them. We did a water fall style vertical accent tile with 4x12 subway tile in the shower. The floors were a 12”x24” large format tile. The best part about it is what you don’t see. The bathroom is 100% waterproof. We used schluter products under everything.
Never stop learning.
We took a few days and went back to school. Though we have been working with schluter products for years, They offered a great class with tips and info on all of their products. It was great to to work with everyone there and I’m looking forward to seeing some of them in the future. The class didn’t only help us as an installer but also gave us everything we need to give you a better job with better products. Hopefully soon we will be able to show off some of the stuff we learned and turn your dream into a reality.
Here’s a sneak peak of the shower at our newest bathroom remodel.
Take a look at this transformation. We touched every inch of this first floor in this split level.
We started by removing the center wall, totally opening up the space. We removed all he carpet and linoleum. Next the cabinets and appliances were removed. Once we had our blank slate, the fun started. We installed 5” maple flooring throughout the entire space. New cabinets were next. With the bulkhead removed, we were able to get taller cabinets and take them to the ceiling. The home owner decided to go with white cabinets along the wall and grey island to add to the modern look. The door style is a modern twist on a shaker style. The island is by far the largest we have built. It is 5’ by 10” with a large modern farm sink. Once the cabinets were installed, we were ready for the granite. They chose to do leathered steel grey on the white cabinets and then use the island for the more impressive blue fantasy. It looks amazing. To finish up the cabinets, we installed square stainless handles and crown molding, which we ended up running throughout the entire space. 3 pendant lights above the island and recessed led lights around the perimeter light the space evenly. We tiled the backsplash with two different tiles. The main area was done with a larger subway style tile that was glazed and had a lot of texture. The small area between the 2 pantry cabinets was tiled with a beautiful mosaic tile and adds a pop of color. We also replaced he carpeted stairs with color matched maple treads and white kicks. The handrails were also replaced with white rails and base plates and iron spindles. Lastly we hung the new television and this area was ready.
It’s an amazing room to entertain and relax. Plenty of room to cook and party. 6 chairs can easily fit at the island giving the chef their own audience as they cook. The cabinets give them plenty of storage and the new appliances compliment the cabinets. I’m sure the homeowners will love this space for years to come and everyone will be shocked at this transformation.
Here is another insurance job. A pipe burst flooding the basement, it ruined the laminate flooring, wood base and Sheetrock.
We removed 12” of Sheetrock and insulation and replaced them. Installed new taller base and new six panel doors. We also removed a couple walls to give the main area more living space.
New life proof vinyl flooring was installed throughout the entire basement. This new 100% waterproof flooring is great for basements.
A new paint color and the basement was updated and ready for the homeowners to start using again.
We just finished up this basement. We were called in after the water heater blew and basement flooded with 4” of water.
16” of wall were removed along with insulation and the carpet.
We fixed the drywall and added 1x for wainscoting to really dress up the basement along with new six panel doors. We also removed an old outdated bar and opened up the wall at the bottom of the stairs to help with the flow.
After that we installed brand new life proof flooring. It’s a wood look fully vinyl 100% waterproof flooring just in case the basement ever has problems again.
New paint and now the basement is not only fixed, but updated and totally transformed.
Here is a kitchen we wrapped up before Thanksgiving.
We started off replacing two windows with shorter ones so we could utilize the space under them. We stretched the kitchen out, making better use of the space and giving them a better layout for cooking. We opened up a walk way giving better flow into the next room. New LED lights help light the new countertops. Large format tile adds to the modern feel of this kitchen. The classic look of the subway tile has a modern twist with the dark grout.
Just finished up a small bathroom. We gutted everything and rebuilt it. Opened up a wall to give it a more open feel when you first walk in. Full tile walls around a new tub. Glass shower doors. New vanity and tops. Radiant heat under the floor tile. While we were there we also retiled mudroom and half bath.
Just finished up this basement. It turned out great. They were amazing to work with and the finished product speaks for itself. Basement has a small kitchen, half bath, living area and game space. Take a look, there are some progress pictures are at the end.
We have been to the Schneider’s house quite a few times. We worked in the basement and we worked in the master bathroom. So I guess it was only time before we worked on the first floor.
So they pulled the carpet and baseboards, we gutted the kitchen, removed walls, took out a closet and removed the old front door. Then we started putting it back together. They choose a dark wood plank look vinyl laminate for the floors. The cabinets are a beautiful white with a show stopping Cambria top. The backsplash will be coming soon. The front door is a custom two panel with side lights.
Take a look at the pictures!
Here is a bathroom we did in Mt. Airy. Once again we removed everything and started over. This bathroom has a very chic look to it. Full marble tile shower, large soaking tub, wood look tile flooring and even the lighting had some crystals added to it. It came out great and once again this tub is amazing. Check out all the pictures for the “before” bathroom.
Just finished up another bathroom outside of Westminster. We removed everything from the corner soaking tub, the small shower and the plain white tiles and started fresh. Take a look at the finished product.
Wanna dress up a room? Tv look funny floating in the middle of a wall? Let us build you a custom mantle and add some drama to a room. Here is an example of a simple mantle with tile surround.
Here is a custom built in for an office we completed before the end of the year. Turned out great. Tons of shelving, storage and counter top space.
Just finished up this formal dining room. It’s amazing how adding a little trim can drastically change the look. Crown molding, chair rails and window boxing.
We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Like everyone, the end of the year is a crazy time for us. Working around everyone’s schedule and finishing up a couple jobs. We will be posting some updated projects within the next few days.
In between a few paint jobs, we started another bathroom remodel. Here are a few pictures of where we are now. Hoping to wrap it up next week. Keep an eye out for the finished product.
We just finished up the Sellers bathroom. Not only did we completely transform their bathroom but we also ended up adding a wall to give them a larger walk in closet. Installed new laminate throughout the bedroom and the closet and also installed two barn doors.
The bathroom had a one piece fiber glass tub/shower surround that we removed and built a custom shower with bench. We used a larger white subway tile with black grout to tie in with the beautiful flooring they chose. The pattern on the floor is stunning in person. The white vanity with black granite tops looks great in these monochromatic tones. The glass shower doors and lighting tie it all together.
We have been very busy and haven't had a chance to post up any completed jobs, but here is a few progress photos.
Back at Jerry and Jane's house. We ripped out all the carpet on the stairs, upper hallway and master bedroom then install new hardwood throughout. Ripped out the rails and balusters installed new rails, wrought iron balusters and hardwood stairs. What a huge transformation.
Here is a bathroom we just finished up. We replaced the fiberglass tub and surround with tile to the ceiling. Beautiful wood look tile and a gorgeous vanity with plenty of storage. This was a huge transformation.
We were back at the Cooper's again. We finally were able to bring their dream family/dining room to life.
As you know we were there not to long ago modernized their old brick fire place with custom trim, stacked stone and clean lines.
This time we ended up laying 5" dark maple floors throughout the first floor. We installed a new front door with larger exterior trim to match the modern look of the house. Then we replaced the outdated oak railing and pickets. We ended up wrapping each post top and bottom in 1x4. Installing new square pickets and dark stained poplar railings and post caps.
What a transformation, I only wish I had before pictures.
This week was beautiful.......well until today. We painted the outside of this house and WOW what an amazing transformation.
Adding a new front door and storm door next week. I will get some finished pictures then.
We finished up what would be one of my favorite projects. The Coopers are great clients and friends. We transformed their 2 story brick fireplace into a beautiful modern focal point. Stacked stone, custom trim and finished drywall made an huge impact on this living room.
We wrapped up a small condo last week. Complete repaint with custom colors and we added some chair rail to the dining room.
Back at Studio of make-up to finally finish up the custom mirror frames. Karen had a great idea to use LEDs to add some lighting and ambience. It took a couple tries to lock in the perfect design but we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
Wrapped up another small job. Moved TV to a new location, installed two piece crown molding and then repainted. We finished the job off with a beautiful focal wall.
We worked with a great client, Studio of Make-up. We helped them transform their old place to a modern uptown chic studio. New floors, cabinets, tops, and paint. They finished it off with lighting and decor and wow what a transformation.
Here is a beautiful house that we repainted. We fixed all the cracks and recaulked everything. Removed all the window treatments and re hung them. The home owner decided to update the colors, so we painted a warm tan with a complimentary green for accents.
