Today our hearts are heavy as we share that our friend and colleague, Terry Pennington, has passed away.

Terry was more than a teammate, he was a husband, father, grandfather, and someone who made everyone feel welcome. His familiar “better than I deserve” became a reminder to slow down, smile, and appreciate the moment.

Terry touched countless lives here at Custom Concrete in his 30 years of service, and the impact he leaves behind is immeasurable. We are grateful for every conversation, every laugh, and every moment he shared with us. He will be deeply and dearly missed.

Some leaders make an impact through strategy. Others through relationships. Chris Stormer, our Chief Financial Officer, does both.
 
Since joining Custom Concrete in 2017, Chris has helped shape who we are as a company. He has strengthened our culture, supported our teams, earned the trust of clients, and guided our financial decisions with steady discipline.
 
But the real story of Chris’s leadership begins with his belief that people come first.
 
Chris often says that success starts with a strong team. From the job site to the shop to the office, he sees the heart of Custom Concrete in the individuals who bring pride and professionalism to work each day. His goal is simple. Build a team of grounded and ambitious people and remove barriers that keep them from doing their best.
 
He also carries a few principles that guide how he leads.
• Focus on what you can control.
• Do not suffer imagined troubles.
• Live in the present. Every chapter offers something valuable.
 
When Chris talks about what makes Custom Concrete special, he points to our character. It is not only our craftsmanship that sets us apart. It is the way we show up for each other. Many on our team are close friends, and that connection turns hard days into shared accomplishments. We are grateful for Chris’s leadership and for the meaningful difference he continues to make across our organization.

We recently completed a major pour at the first AC Hotels by Marriott in Indiana, a milestone project featuring vertical work, post‑tension systems, and podium construction.

Despite extreme cold and limited site space, our crews advanced every phase safely, efficiently, and with exceptional coordination. Thoughtful planning, strong communication, and disciplined ex*****on kept the project moving without interruption.

We are proud to maintain a zero‑accident record on this project and to deliver the high‑level performance our commercial clients rely on.

Sneak Peek! 💥

Big progress is happening in Westfield.

Construction is moving forward at Ambrose on Main, where our team is hard at work on this new mixed use development. Sitting at the corner of SR 32 and East Street, the project will introduce new commercial storefronts, outdoor gathering areas, a rooftop patio, and 87 modern apartments to the heart of downtown Westfield.

We’re proud to contribute to a development that will enhance the experience of living, working, and visiting in this growing community.
