Surface temps need to be much lower for the second coat. 130degs is way to hot!

This is one coat of paint! And, It will get one more! Washed, scraped, sanded, primed and caulked for the best finish possible.

Proper painting projects start with the right preparation. This house has significant alligator cracking, which is common on T111 siding. The process starts with pressure washing, scraping as needed and then sanding with 80 grit sandpaper to achieve a suitable substrate. This is my buddy Paul back rolling Sherwin-Williams Prime RX peel bond primer after applying the primer with a sprayer. This product is super sticky, gets in all the cracks, locks everything down and is then ready for two coats of SW Duration. This product goes on milky white and dries almost clear. We are repainting this house, installing new window waterproofing and LP smart side trim. Also adding fire resistant paint additive to the paint in both coats of paint.

There are times for working and there are times to get refreshed. We made a trip east to Myrtle Beach and the mornings and evenings were fantastic.

Does your homes siding look like this?
This is called alligator peeling or cracking. This problem can be fixed but it does require a little bit more preparation before the topcoats of paint.
