🌿 A Nature-Inspired Garden is Taking Root on Caledonian Ave! The Evening Garden Club of West Roxbury has been hard at work transforming this pedestrian island into a nature-inspired garden featuring native plants such as Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), Foxglove beardtongue (Penstemon digitalis), Nodding onion (Allium cernuum) and Prarie Dropseed (Sporobolus heterolepsis). As these plants establish themselves over the summer, this little island will burst into bloom, becoming a haven for bees, butterflies, and birds.
Stay tuned for updates throughout the season as this little patch of nature comes alive. 🐝🦋

☔️ A walk through this private 3-acre woodland garden in Hopkinton, … Boulderwoods, … full of rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias, and other ornamental trees that flourish in groves among valleys, hillocks, and huge boulders, underplanted with drifts of shade-loving plants, including trilliums, bloodroot, jack-in-the-pulpits, and more, was such an amazing experience despite the windy, chilly, wet day. ☔️

🌱 Have you ever felt confused about what to prune — or when to prune — in your garden?
You’re not alone. Pruning can be one of the trickiest parts of gardening, and timing makes all the difference between encouraging healthy new growth and accidentally cutting off next year’s blooms.
Join us for a presentation by Christie Dustman, owner of Christie Dustman & Company, Inc., a landscape design/build and maintenance company in the Boston area, June Prune -‘the best tools and how to THINK about pruning’ on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. 🌱
