“Do I need waterproofing, or is crack repair enough?”

Here's a simple way to think about it. An isolated crack in a poured or block wall that isn't actively letting water in can often be sealed with crack repair (epoxy or polyurethane injection), which restores the wall's structural integrity.

Recurring water intrusion, dampness, efflorescence or a musty smell in your basement or crawl space usually points to a bigger moisture problem, which is what waterproofing (interior drain tile, a sump pump or an exterior membrane system) is built to solve.

When the University of Toledo needed a new elevator pit foundation as part of a Mackinnon Hall renovation, the site came with a real challenge: 30 to 40 feet of soft, unsuitable soil, and headroom so tight our crew had to remove the excavator cab just to get equipment inside the building.

Our solution was 11 helical piles, each extending roughly 28 feet to reach stable bearing soil, installed entirely within that confined workspace. The result: zero structural settlement, and a project that stayed on schedule for the rest of construction.
